Seems since Proudfoot has left the make up of the pack is less than desirable We are conceding so much grunt with the pack selected How the hell can Ox Nche start ahead of Kitshoff or Nyakane ahead of Malherbe, especially considering Trevor is not in top form at the moment It’s a closer call between Marx and Mbonambi but Marx is the best hooker in the business. Our bench frontrow should be starting Then at lock we have the physically inept Mostert who could not even clear out an 18 year old Georgian fullback. We don’t need heart and energy in the engine room against the Lions, we need grunt. At least Lood is on the bench, but it does not help that he has had no game time and it’s a real shame RG is out with skin issues. Mostert knows the systems so is retained. I’d preferred to have seen Jason Jenkins in the squad ahead of v Rensburg and the useless Orie. Then we have little man Kwagga at 8. I just don’t get where this selection came from. For a start he is NOT an 8 and given his size should only be considered at 6. Wiese has been pretty good so why not start him at 8. The obvious choice should have been one of the du Preez twins or Marcel Coetzee Hell Jaco Coetzee, Elrigh Louw, Evan Roos, Ruan Ackerman, Augustus, Jacques du Plessis and Tshituka would have been better options at 8 than Kwagga The pack selected sells us physically short. There are better options than Nche, Nyakane, Mbonambi, Mostert and Kwagga Politics clearly plays a part with the frontrow, Lood and RG being unfit accounts for Mostert and Vermeulen out accounts for Kwagga but it did not need to be that way

"We don’t need heart and energy in the engine room against the Lions, we need grunt."

Bye bye Steph, Lood, Kolisi. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The physical Dud Toit our power ball carrier in the WC knockouts…..13 runs/12 metres gained/ 2 defenders beaten/2 balls spilled.

If you figure a turnover is worth 20 metres that means Dud Toit’s 13 runs actually cost us 28  metres.

This Dud Toit illusion beats any cult I know.

Looks like I suspect, a fairly high risk selection with an unconventional game plan who everybody is just guessing...I wonder ? If it pays off you will hear the praises and if not condemnation.

It's the unpredictability that excites me. But it might be a high risk experiment (a lost leader or guinea pig in metaphoric context ) for better things. It is not going to be a dull game, I'm sure. A slight loss won't be a train smash as it might give a vision to what needs to be tweeked better for the remaining 2 tests afterwards. A big loss however will create a lot of bleating on this forum with the doom prophets taking the front lines for a brief moment.

On the otherhand, Gatland is competing in a similar approach.

The Lions could well win this one too.

Doom prophets? Or just realists. Not everyone needs to live live with their head buried in their backsides. Watching the plastics when it goes wrong is like watching pigeons scatter.

Watching the gloom prophets when it goes right is even funnier and, a lot sweeter isn't it not. It was in Japan 2019...maybe it was not for gloom and doomers who prefer to be self-righteously right...rugby or any sport is meant to be uplifting and enjoyable and not to feed fragile egos. It is as simple and logical as that.

Wow still learnt nothing - gaining a metre per carry in contact is par - which is what PSDT does Mostert in contact is useless - no gain in metres at all. The only time he gains metres is in space A complete physical liability and if you can’t see that you are either blind, delusional or stupid

The doom prophet who predicted the Boks would beat England, and called the performance accurately. Man you are easy pickings. The plastics fell into sensationalism about England's game against New Zealand and called it wrong, just like they did about the All Black win over France in 2015 ahead of the Bok semi. Two steps back, and one leap off a cliff. Keep trying Chabs

Vermeulen 21 runs …… 94 metres in the 3 knockout games.

Dud Toit 13 runs ….12 metres.

No Dave I don’t buy your 1 metre a run is all we can expect bs.

Dave I agree with your comments.

Time and again we have had chosen these flimsy lightweight packs and it has not worked.

Jake when he picked his RWC winning pack knew what he was doing. It was a powerful pack. Jake understand Bok rugby. We have big athletic men and that is our competitive advantage. When we give up forward domination we invariably lose.

Now here we have a case were they have picked a very mobile pack with a nice attacking backline. Looks like they will be running the ball. Not the way I would have gone with the pack but lets see what happens. Can even a powder puff Bok pack stand up to the Lions pack looks to be the question. If they can we will win as our replacements will smash them latter in the game.

As for ou organhuffer he gets more hilarious as time goes on. Does the poor oak knows what physicality means. Mindless chatter from the guy! This is the trouble when you make a big blunder and keep digging. Ditto Dr Mozzzzzzzzz.

Found out how? You sound a bit salty. We don't claim to be the best in the world...just being the world champions...NZ is a great team and the benchmark in rugby, but they fell for the Pom hype and didn't make it to the final...South Africa isn't a half bad team either...we actually made it to the final...and made it count...if we lose all our matches for the next two years, we are still the world champs...get used to it.
