If you had a look at the way the AB's kick the ball - you would find virtually all their kicks go into no-mans land and the recipient is in serious trouble.   Now go and look where the Springboks kick the ball and the result.  The kicking of Pienaar is pathetic and totally ineffective - bar to ahnd possession over to the opposition.    Pollard's kicks is more purposeful - but Morne has never ben known for making purposeful kicks - that ebing one of the most problematic aspects of his game at flyhalf and half of the reasons why Sttde Francais keeps him on the bench - the other half being his inability to know when to kick and when to pass.
Kicking is an essential element of the game - but it should be done with an objective in mind and that objective is to pt the opposing team under pressure - not you own team like happens all the time in the case of some of our players.
The other problem is that if kicking is the center of our startegy and the opposing teams know exactly how to counter that strategy.  Kicking should be a variation - ootherside it becomes an abomination.   
That was one of the reasons for our poor display on Saturday.  We struggled to get balls back and then we kick it away aimlessly.
