Now that is what wanna see, man everybody played well. JDV showed he is an inside centre.

15) Kirchner - 8/10 - Played well but still think Lambie will make the team stronger

14) Habana - 10/10 - One of the best wings ever?

13) Taute - 6/10 - relatively quiet but did his job on defence

12) JDV - 8/10 - one of his better tests

11) Hougaard - 5/10 - a bit dissapointing by missing Beale for the aussies try

10) Goosen - 8/10 - Played well, nerves maybe plyed a part in him missing kicks

9) Pienaar - 8/10 - well played

8) Vermeulen - 9/10 - was a beast

7) Alberts 7/10 - Well played

6) Louw 10/10 - Louw is a must, Brussow who???

5) Bekker 9/10 - well played

4) Etzebeth - 8/10 - Well played

3) Du Plessis - 6/10 - not bad

2) Strauss - 7/10 - well played

1) Beast -6/10- not bad

Louw the best player on the field? A big call there, he was okay, about on par with his showing against New Zealand. Strauss was better than a 7 and both props were much better this time around. Taute was the better of the centres, particularly in close traffic. Jean was no better than any other test at 12, and he was gifted a very soft defence in the second half to stroll through. Goosen had some soft defensive moments, but was very good ball in hand. Pienaar was iffy, a 7, some good with some bad. But he fed the backs which made a big difference. Our attack was far less forward orientated and far less predictable. The speed of distribution and some of the angles run were fantastic. The attack on the Aussie breakdown was very sharp, the boks knew when to let it go or when to apply pressure. Bekker had a solid showing, more assured than Kruger. Hougaard is no wing sadly, the sooner JP returns the better. More than individual showings, it was the work as units that was the big factor. Good showing, now it must be repicated against New Zealand. This was not a particularly strong Aussie side.

Woo hoo! Yes these ratings are correct overall nicely put. Its great to see the boks pull it off by 30+ I did predict 20+ so i was close in that regard, i was confident that the boks will win comfortably. Bekker had a superb game well done on him.

Goosen played great, breaking the line at times very exciting to watch, however i would prefer pienaar to do the goal kicking next week. I think JDV has proved alot of us wrong in this game that he is a phenomenal ball runner and i think we'll desperately need him when his time is over, just like we needed jaque fourie at 13 at times.

Next week the we have the ABs, Bring it on!

Good player Ratings. Everyone was solid. Habana and Louw were exceptional.

Hougaard did make a poor attemp of tackle, otherwise the Ausies would have not got that try. Will JP Pieterson be ready for next week?

What about leaving Habana on the right wing.

In essence the ratings are in line with the ratings I put elsewhere on the site.   Maybe 1 point to high in some cases.   As per normal the Cat has not seen the game - and if he did his interpretation was way off the mark.  Louw's performane against the All Blacks was very good, but he had a better game today.   I would rate him and havana as the two best players today.

Then as to De Villiers - his comments are really showing that he is clueless - De Villiers had a massive game -  Goosen and he was they key to the massively improved game of the backline - but then that would be way past the level of understanding by our resident dolt.   Same with Pienaar - his service to the backline was exceptional - at last he could pass to an effective flyhalf and not forced to pass to Morne Steyn.   His relieving kicks in particular was excellent.

Habana has a massive amount of ball sense - he will be good at either 11 or 14 - will not make much difference.
