The Stormers may have wanted the win more. They have actually also played well in Capetown this season- albeit terrible everywhere else. I think the Stormers have lost every away game they have played, and won all homes games.

Both teams showed some good skills, and the backline coach or skills coach for the Stormers is also from New Zealand. The Delande setup try was good and he appeared to be a thinking player, and he put an average player away by drawing two players right near the touchline
It was looking like the Lions would win the SA conference, with the Bulls 2nd. Now suddenly is an open horse race. The Jaguars may win the SA conference- which would be the first time an SA team has never won the Sa conference. The Bulls have slipped and the Lions tour is starting to unravel

The issue of the NZ coaching saga is not involved here - it is the ability of the coaches to get teams to play comprehensive rugby that counts, We had far too many duds coaching in SA. Mentioning duds like De Villiers, Meyer, Coetaee, Ludeke, Marais, etc is enough to give any real rugby lover the creeps.
Mitchell is in a way higher class than the duds mentioned.
Meyer's ideas and selections were utter BS and doomed to fail, His team performances since 20014 was the worse one to date - bar for the no-knowledge Coetzee - and losing against Japan was the result of that typical Meyer BS. In my book there is no worse coaches from a game plan perspective than Meyer and Coetzee - both were clueless and totally so.
