Teams are working out how to cut Delande out of the game. He is not breaking tackles or having barn storming runs that pull in lots of the opposition. His passing game is not existent at this stage, with his offload just a distant memory.

The Boks need more playmaking from the 12 to take some of the decision making - especially when Pollard is not on top form.

I think Delande needs to move to the bench, with another inside centre considered for the time being.
Willemse would be my preferred option, as he can pass well-, and he is physical enough. to carry the ball up and make front on tackling.

The myth that Dud is a good defender was exposed today. Normally he gets away with clinging to his opponent, often until help arrives. Kerevi simply refused to be stopped by these papier-mâché tackles.

On the offense guys like Dave have gone gaga about his tractoring….but the reason he has made a few extra metres is he is not trying to do anything but keep his feet moving. The Welsh test aside, the runs rarely amount to a hill of beans.

When last if ever have we seen him cut the line at pace, offload, pass effectively, take an outside gap.

He is a cul de sac. And all the naive mouths on this site have bought into a silly media narrative spawned by a stupid Will Greenwood comment.

Dud has scored 6 tries in 51 tests, surely one of the lowest strike rates….Jean scored 27 tries in 108 tests, more than twice the strike rate.

Saffex, you are strangely quiet!

Still wouldn't swap any of the Bok backline for anyone else in international rugby??

Kerevi and Rieko Ioane showed last night exactly what a talented midfield should look like.

Compare them with the disasters DDA and Am...............

The only two test quality 12s are Esterhuizen and Frans, in that order. The backward gameplan look its most fluid this year with Frans, who has been the only good 12 on display for the Boks this year. Esterhuizen is the most powerful and skillful centre we have. José has made a point of demoting our most dynamic players in favour of dull-witted mediocre athletes with no skill. When has Damian been anything other than this? He has displayed substandard distribution his entire senior career. His tackling has long been dreadful. He has never been a powerback. He has always been stupid. The only question is this: Why is it taking so long for the rugby community in South Africa to see it? The great tragedy of South Africa rugby is how talented players are hated and mistreated, many never featuring much (Brussow, our best ever fetcher) whilst non-entities are rewarded for letting the team down week in and week out. Damian has never had a genuinely solid test. Just like the Lambie quest, we are awaiting that break out game.

Apart from you absurd like of Esterhuizen and Brain Fart Frans Steyn, I must agree with you.

Somehow the obvious choices are ignored and replaced by the useless.

Puzzling.

The only one here who is an idiot is the one who gives a pass to a player who was run through like rag doll. Damian looked like he stuck his arm out and latched onto a moving train. About twenty miles down the line his broken body was found.

Kerevi is a thinking man's Delande.
He showed an excellent mix of power and playmaking ability. He can crash it up, and make long passes, or take breaks.
If Delande is going to be rotated or put on the bench, who actually is the backup inside center? Frans Steyn is unfortunately past his best.
Willemse has limited experience at 12, but this is where he has had his best games.

Willemse has been poor at 12. The best performances this season from 12 have been exclusively from Frans. He is not the physical monster he once was, but he does everything we need him to do. Josè not including Esterhuizen was a colossal gaff, but he was never a great assessor of talent. More akin to Straeuli.

Yeah and he showed us how to fumble a ball Kerevi has NEVER been a thinking 12 he has no visionary skills at all - he is all about crash and bash - there is nothing subtle or creative about him He is what he is because of his strength and size He is a good player but DA is better
