First, we have Reinach getting stepped by S3xton from the set scrum move. Reinach just went right past him even though there was no one else behind him. It was his man.

Secondly, what is Habana doing behind the ruck here instead of watching his wing? This is what gave Bowe an unopposed run and gather, and probably also what prompted Murray to put the little kick through in the first place. He would have looked up and seen nothing but empty green grass the entire length of the Bok 22m area.

Perhaps we can forgive Reinach, he is inexperienced. Habana, however? Protest as we may, these guys are costing us. They're supposed to be the leaders in the team. They're not leading. They're making rookie mistakes.

When Sexton made that inside break - there was evidently two player beside the ref that was in the position to make the tackle on him - the two beside the ref.  Burger was one and I suspect Coetzee the other one.   When flyhalfs make inside breaks the loosies are supposed to cover them.     Reinach went for the potential outside movement not for the inside step.     I think that is pretty normal in defensive situations.
Habana was on holiday in Dublin on Saturday and he was just continueing with the holiday - so that is the logical explanation about him being out of position.

Poor wee Bryan may have just forgotten what his job description entails ,after all it must get lonely all them years waiting on the wing ,waiting ,and waiting ......Hope you guys stick it up the wee Englanders next week else all you Bok fans may well have a very sad Yuletide indeed !None of us want that eh ? Who wants to see pretty boy Farrell of the hairdo get one up on the SH ? Far out just re-watching that test and fark me 20 minutes to play 13-3 and they decline another kick ? Nutty as squirrel shizz !

The cover did get him Mike (Vermeulen), but by then the damage was done. The defensive line was fractured and there was space behind to exploit. Lambie was defending the inside center channel and was pointing at Reinach as he advanced, in all probability instructing him to watch S3xton. It was Reinach's tackle to make .

Thanks Pakie I spotted that Reinach miss and reported it....Maaik accused me of lying. As for the excuse that loosies were supposed to cover him, absolute nonsense. It was a clear one on one tackle. The truth is having a bad day on this site. It was a missed tackle that drew our 14 man defence closer in....setting up quick ball and the try. Habana was very culpable in the next phase as well.

Overall coaching and teaching clever lies behind failure to do the right move under pressue.

My dear friend Mozart, for an intelligent guy this is just too damn stupid...rather give the accolade to clever (very) tactics of Ireland...don't let bias delude you...Reinach cannot be responsible...simply Ireland were very clever...saw an opportunity and outwitted us. I'm against pinpointing a single player especially under these circumstances...the overall way we play has deficiencies...when we lose advantage and are outwhitted we tend to blame individuals but the truth is the team failed because inferior coaching tution.

We have got to move away from individual responsibility to team responsibility to coaching and selection, add to this a player whether adaquate or exceptionable only has (if lucky) a few shots at "goal"

I'm not against Meyer entirely but he really is too staid and selections are uncreative and lack-lustre...he is a good coach for Currie Cups and Super Series but the world scenario is too tough for him...he has no extra...can do the basics but seems nervous against huge trials and lacks creativeness. Kitch and Jake with their faults as well had the ability to venture and create. He is frightened to explore and use new talent.

Reinach is a good scrummie but not the best...are there better?...FDP is nearing retirement. What the hell do you suggest after Hougies embarrassing performance.

Even though Reinach didn't close Sexton down quick enough it's not right to pin the blame solely on him like Mozart has tried to do. Habana is also at fault.

Sebastian you are a nice chap, and I am guilty as charged, he missed a tackle....the team conceded the try. But so often in similar circs  I see Jean or Jannie or  Morne dinged. It's the nature of these debates....imbalance begets imbalance.
Still on your broader point on what to do with the scrum half position. I would play Vermaak. Ask yourself if Reinach would be anywhere near the Bok team if not for his brilliant long runs in a few games. Then ask yourself if you can count on a long run against England and you have your answer.

Seb you are spot on re our coach.........more than anything he is far too conservative and completely out of touch with who constitutes his best players. He is stuck in a time warp with old players he is familiar with. His conservatism prevents him from widening the net.

As for Vermaak, what a joke, the guy cant even make his club's starting side and now we want him as our Bok starter - this is ignorance of the highest order......about as ignorant as defining Hougaards performance on 3 bad passes and 2 fumbles and in the process ignoring his 59 good passes on the day and the fact that he was outstanding against Oz and NZ less than a month ago.......fickle beyond belief

Actually Ireland wasn't the aberration...it was more typical of Hougaards play. The Oz/ NZ tests were the exceptions.

Ah of course yes........much like Matfield being one of our best players against Ireland......what a bloody joke.

So Moffie, Hougaard learnt the art of passing in those tests did he and has now lost it again.....unbelievable
