Braam van Straaten- Keep Lambie at 10!

Cape Town - Former Springbok flyhalf Braam van Straaten saysPatrick Lambie should stay at flyhalf for the last two games of the Boks' European tour.

Lambie - who started at flyhalf in the 16-12 win over Ireland last week - has retained his starting role at No 10 for Saturday's Test against Scotland at Murrayfield.

And Van Straaten says the Sharks pivot should stay there for the last game against England at Twickenham, especially with the Rugby World Cup in 2015 in mind.

"Pat is a very talented player. He'll do well no matter where he plays for South Africa.

"But if Pat gets more opportunities at flyhalf, he'll show what he's made of. Flyhalf could become his best position," Van Straaten told the Beeld website.

Van Straaten, who played 21 Tests for the Boks, also rates the injured Johan Goosen highly but believes, for now, Lambie should stay in the saddle. The other current flyhalf options for coach Heyneke Meyer are Morné Steyn and Elton Jantjies.

"Everyone always wants the Bok flyhalf to play well. During the Rugby Championship there were mixed feelings about who should be flyhalf. But they should stay with Pat on this tour - then he can become really good," said Van Straaten, who in recent years helped Australia's goal-kickers.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 16:30 (SA time).

to Lambie.  Braam could be the kicking coach but nothing else.

What have they come to when they have to approach a dud for his comments on a role he managed to degrade?   His advice is meaningless 

Something like - "Ask my brother Piet - he is as stupid as I am".  A response equal to the famous "DUH" of Bart  Simpson's father.   LOL

Wander what the dolt think of Jantjies - if he rates him - I am sure that my negative viewoints are justified.   Just wait to hear what he says and do the exact opposite.  

In that regard - sorry Lambie - you did not pick youself - it was done when Meyer had a rare lucid interval.   The latter is a rare occurrence indeed and I think you are safe until that fortunate interval recurs.  

 Ahhhh ou Maaikie at it again calling others duds. Braam may not have been the most exciting flyhalf ever, but he has played many first class games and a number of tests and ou Maaik thinks he should keep his opinion to himself. What are your rugby credentials that makes you so special and superior to Van Straaten old sport?

im not really seeing meyer do much along the lines of rebuilding Bok rugy for the future TBH and i cant wait to see how many players taken on this tour dont actually get a game, cos against england one would think that not too much will change with team selection.
