I actually know a bit about this stuff. Lots of problems for evolution. I mean its based on randomness but randomness doesn't exist in mathematics and mathematics is how it was all put together! Huge problem. If there was a big bang it was supposed to be started by hydrogen but how can you complete the periodic table from that? You couldn't even get half way! Carbon dating doesn't work either. There's no such thing as sedimentary eras either. In some parts of the world the layers are backwards!! Did they exist in retrograde time? Damn!! How about the primordial soup? The conditions it would require are destroyed by UV light but yet need UV light too. Information science is another huge huge problem for evolution. Ernst Haeckel was a German professor who faked embryo charts to convert Germans to evolution and was found out and fired by his university but his drawings are still in charts today! Lots of exposed lies are still in the textbooks. Whales with leg bones apparently, well vestigial leg bones, but they only exist in one gender of whales and have muscles etc that are used for making more whales! Its funny the last thing I'll mention, Darwin got the idea for evolution in south america when consulting a medium. He wasn't actually the first to come up with the idea either. The originator backed Darwin to promote it. When all is said and done you go through history and no atheist has advanced science. The best scientists who develop understanding have believed in a creator of some kind. I could list hundreds of facts for why evolution doesn't work. Well, macro evolution. The only probable evolution that exists is called micro evolution that I like to call micro adaptation, I.e., each after its own KIND!

@Eric, from what I understand the periodic table starts with hydrogen. 

Gravity creates nuclear fusion by converting cooling hydrogen into helium. This process then continues until all the elements are created from the most basic to the most advanced elements.

Not everything adds up, but that might just be that our science is not advanced enough to understand everything, or an afterlife created the initial big bang.

You can believe in macro evolution or that this universe exists. The two of them are incompatible. Its a pipe dream and those in the know understand this, they know its a lie. The lie is portrayed in a way to appeal to the lay people that have never studied any branch of science. All emotion, no substance. And the cherry on the cake. Those humanists want you dead! Evolutionary scientists are anti-human. The stuff they believe is really sickening. The talk of becoming gods and killing human beings. Ever heard of H+ (humanity plus). They say they are going to create an singularity. United nations is going along with this too. In the biodiversity treaty it was written that the status of hu!an beings must be reduced to that of rocks. Nice. Human population reduced to virtually nothing. They aren't even shy about this stuff. The everyday Joe thinks its team Evo and all their worries are washed away, fat chance of that. Study real science and evolution falls apart. The science behind the theories. It doesn't take a lot to blow holes in this ballony. Every single key part of these theories (the don't agree among each other) is a big fat lie.

Being God is only one possibility  for the nature of a creator, if such a creator or creators exist.

It could just as easily be a machine running countless simulations. Yes, you could just be a tiny number inside a huge cold machine that doesn't care about you in the slightest. Hurts the ego huh? Much easier to believe that we are special, unique, loved and meaningful. 

Proving creationism does not by default vindicate Christianity, sorry. 

Evolution and creationism are not mutually exclusive either. There's no reason why a creator could not set up the parameters for life and use natural selection as a means of spawning species/diversity.

Creationists demand that evolution be proven but the only proof they offer to support their argument of creationism via dogmatic beliefs is a text written ages ago. 

A text which they themselves will tell you can only be taken literally sometimes and should be take  figuratively on other occasions. And none of them agree on where this dividing line is. 

What they will do is tell you that when something in the Bible is over the top, unfair, cruel, hypocritical, nonsensical or blatantly false... Then we should take it figuratively. 

Nice simple way to get around every inconsistency in the text they rely on.

Most of us here have had ample exposure to religion. Some accept it and some don't. 

But since this is not a discussion about faith let's return to the topic of evolution. 

How much exposure have you had to it.

Eric was talking all about how he accepts micro-evolution but prefers to call it adaptation. Yet he reckons macro evolution is total nonsense.

In essence he us saying that evolution is only possible to a point. Or rather that he is willing to accept only what can be demonstrated over a short period.

He does however call macro evolution a load of rubbish. 

So, my question to both of you is this. 

If the theory of evolution is such nonsense then how has it been able to make such accurate predictions so consistently? More simply, how were biologists able to use this "nonsense" to make predictions that would otherwise be impossible to make?

You know that there have been countless occasions where prior to digging up fossils it was possible to predict various facets of their anatomy. 

The best anti-evolutionists seem able to do is find isolated cases of poor science and use that to try and rubbish a theory that is so well corroborated that there is not an objective court in the world that'd object to it.

It's literally the equivalent is saying that because some channels on your TV are snowy there can be no possibility of HD anywhere in the world.

The Piltdown Man was a paleoanthropological hoax in which bone fragments were presented as the fossilised remains of a previously unknown early human.

These included a jawbone, more skull fragments, a set of teeth, and primitive tools.

He could have said 5 billiuon yeras and these dopes who were his audience would have sucked it all up). The discovery was announced at a Geological Society meeting and was given the Latin nameEoanthropus dawsoni ("Dawson's dawn-man"). The questionable significance of the assemblage remained the subject of considerable controversy until it was conclusively exposed in 1953 as a forgery. It was found to have consisted of the altered mandible and some teeth of an orangutan deliberately combined with the cranium of a fully developed, though small-brained, modern human.

The Piltdown hoax is prominent for two reasons: the attention it generated around the subject of human evolution, and the length of time, 41 years, that elapsed from its alleged initial discovery to its definitive exposure as a composite forgery.
