What are you talking about?   Mitchell is building up a new squad destroyed by  Ludeke and Marais and they are not disgraced yet,   They beat the Hurricanes and came within a whisker of beating the Chiefs - only crooked reffing in fact saved the skin of the Chiefs.   Todays game was played in very poor playing conditions.   The team is in fact developing - but has not been disgraced like the Springboks under Meyer was against Japan.

Problem with Meyer and White is they use the handbook from the 1990's as a guide to coaching,    They do not realize that the rules of the game was changed drastically in 2008 and that the ABs was the quickest in uptake - hence their superiority in the period since then,  They were followed by the NH teams with SA lagging behind - the result being clearly in evidence in Meyer's last year as a coach of the Springboks. 

However, it is no use discussing this with a person clueless about  rugby who still thinks the 10 man game is all that counts.     Kick the sh!t out of the ball and stumble along clueless on the field of play and you may just by accident win a game occasionally.          

I heard the NZ commentators complimenting the Bulls performance marred by some silly errors. The condition really did not suit the Bulls. Mitchell is doing okay and there s a reason to hope he will sort the Bulls out. Impressed by their fitness levels and keeness.

No wonder Mozart chickened out after starting a BS story again.   

Ag kak - so aimless kicking handover of possession with the  hope that something may happen to ensure counter-attacks by the opposition will not have the expected results of try-scoring.   Hand over possession is the norm - your own team must help the opposition to get ball possession and everything will be fine.

The above so-called game plan idiocy is preferable  to trying to keep possession and to play attacking rugby by keeping the ball in hand,

The idiocy is further emphasized by statements of the past like 90% of the requirements of a flyhalf are to kick balls - that breakdown ball protection and recovery are not required from loosies - that scoring of tries does not count when player performances are evaluated but goal kicking does.    

You have pals - I find it hard to believe.

The Truth

One cannot look at exceptions - but look at the rule in this case.   Since 2014 the Bulls were atrocious in Super Rugby.

The new rules of 2008 did not have an immediate affect in 2009 and introduction was in the case of NZ teams faster than in the case of other franchises - by 2011 the situation was in full swing in the case of all NZ franchises and even some Australian teams - and still nothing was done by SA teams - bar the Lions.

It is only now that the Bulls are beginning to show change and the same applies to a lesser extent to the Stormers.   Lets face facts the kick nd chase game of Meyer, Ludeke and Marais did not work since execution was routinely poor and it was only a means of easy  possession handover to the opposition..

Meyer is useless as a coach. He's useless when it comes to most things rugby related. We saw that when he became Bok coach. Losing to Japan was confirmation of how poor a coach he actually was. He couldn't even control his players.  

He was fortunate to have so many quality players in the SR / CC team that he coached. Many of whom will go down in history as South African greats ... and he had nothing to do with their natural talent.

He exploited their natural talent ... and had everyone believe he was the sole cause of all the success ... sadly it came to an end when he was exposed as a chump. Many years of riding on the coat tails of some incredible players had come to an end.

Meyer will forever be remembered as the coach who got thumped by Japan. That is his legacy.

At least he has his "integrity" ... lol!!!
