This is what happens when you lose all your bearings. Worse than Japan by a mile....we played against 14 men.

Willie ...okayJP....only just okMapoe and Kriel....ineffectiveAllende...uselessMvovo....one of his better gamesLambie....fluffed a simple kickJantjies...increasingly cluelessFaf ...good trending to cluelessMalherbe ...no pressure against a weakened Irish scrumStrauss... Not much Willie could do. None of the inside backs wanted to take any responsibility on attack. They just moved the ball to Willie as quickly as possible, leaving him with defenders who had to do no more than just shift across to crowd him. Our hopeless centers did little other than catch and pass. It was like they were running training drills, not engaged in a test match.

I'm afraid WD this was inevitable.....this fantasy stuff has been rife on here. Billy Joe Bob is the man to rip up the NZ defenses, only to find Billy Joe Bob can't bother 14 very average Irish chaps. So much for the guys who were howling for meyer's departure.....clueless.

Moz I actually rated HM ,his problem is that of all non ABs coaches these days ,how do you beat the ABs with any consistency .Being up against what is arguably the greatest ABs team of all time means he was constantly under the pump forcing him to maybe do things that he might not do under different circu.mstances .He got the Boks within 2 points in the semi and a 3rd place in the RWC Seemed a pretty decent chap to boot although his emotions may have seeped through to his team now and then ,I do reckon a coach with a calm demeanor helps settle his team down .

Pakie its not its not his running game that I take issue with its his passing game. He off loads to a player who have no options or his passing is so shit that the movement breaks down. They need a to read the game by taking the ball into contact especially on the sidelines the obsession with the offload is too predictable.

Willie was the ONLY back besides FAF who tried to do much. Mvovo was respectable.
Can Alistair do the job is the question. Nothing in his history inspires confidence. He has a chance to show everybody what he can do so time will tell but I am not hopeful.

There was a lot of non-triers yesterday - start with Pietersen, Mapoe, Vermeulen, Kolisi, Louw and bar a few line-outs early - Etzebeth. De Jager ws poor - but the above also have no excuse for a rubbish display.
