This was another Protea historical low point. With a nice partnership going, we manage to  become totally toothless in the last 10 overs. Not enough runs surely, but  with the ball swinging nicely we have the Aussies  all but beaten. Only for our bowlers to duplicate the batsmen. How bad we're those last overs from McLaren, Parnell, Abbott and Steyn. A special word here for Steyn who managed to put the ball up nicely in the hitting zone of a cross batted slogger....and then declined to bowl his last over, supposedly because the ball was too soft.

Is this the most disappointing team in sport?

The brains behind this farce need a special mention as well. Why the long tail. Why persist with De Kock as an opener, he is better suited to a number 6 role. Why have guys like Behardien coming in exactly when you need to accelerate?

Moz, McLarent was bad from his very first ball. He went for 17 in his first 2 ovets,  after we had them a bit under pressure rr wise. Berhardien is supposed to be the guy who walks on and start slogging. It's a pipe dream though. We are never going to win crunch games with these 2 passengers on board. Steyning rightfully declined as his previous over went for 12. He knows his craft and his limitations, and if he declined to bowl it was not as a result of non competitiveness.

Moz...yeah, same sentiment for Morne, Bakkies, Victor in rugby...bringing back Shaun is tantamount to bringing back Smitty...you cannot be serious?...lolz

I often see Shaun around...lives in same area...don't think he has held a ball or bat since he retired...at least as far as I know...taking the Mickey out of us again. This bound to awaken your mate Ol'Mike.

The old sportsmen's club.
