Lions won easily. Many B-team players by the Western Force.

Brian o'Driscoll looked good with 2 tries and involved in setting up some others. Even at the twilight of his career should be a starter for the tests.

Lee Halfpenny got 11 kicks out of 11. Most right in the middle of the poles, kicking from all over the field.

Generally a good performance but not sure about the quality of the opposition. Many of the tries looked like practise ground moves such was the ease of scoring.

I think we actually squandered rather a lot of try scoring opportunities, actually.

Lots to work on and improve, but, given the team was completely changed from Saturday and they had still to get over the journey from Hong Kong, I don't think it was a bad showing in the main.

Halfpenny's kicking was, as you say, exemplary.

Tuilagi and O'Driscoll played well together.

Parling played very well when he came on as a sub, Vunipolo did very well, Cole was the better of the starting Props and Healy is obviously injured and cited for biting, so ? Corbisiero is now on standby to leave the England Tour in Argentina to join in his place.

Both Youngs brothers made an impact as subs, Rory Best had a mixed game at Hooker so I think that Hibbard and Tom Youngs remain in the two Test spots.

Heaslip played well, Farrell and Sexton both took their tries well and I was glad to see Tom Croft get up and walk off after that nasty clash off heads. He's playing well again after such a terrible injury last year.

Maitland has been the worst player thus far, to my mind.

There really are more options in selection than maybe the Coaches might have liked for the Tests, but there is a long way to go yet.

Just have to hope for a lot of improvement before we get there.

Very good summary Becs.

Thought Best actually played his way out of contention - looked a little off the pace and seemed to be on the wrong side of more than one ruck?

Very impressed with the forwards running the ball (o'Brein, Heaslip, Vunipolo) and the back interplay. Didn't know Tuilagi had that offload in him,  but I haven't seen much NH rugby.

By the time those Tests roll around the combinations should be a lot better, especially on defense which I thought was lacking. Continuity with the ball was very good but there was almost zero competition from the Force on the ground.
