Nothing would have helped Brazil - it was evident from today's game as well. They are a team consisting of players who play for various clubs - all outside of Brazil - and they have serious difficulties in reconciling the different coaching strategies/styles f play of the various teams they play for in a coherent and implementable game plan for Brazil itself.
Your emphasis are as per normal distorted. Nobody argue about the need for talented and experienced players who perform on the require level - what goes wrong is when th experienced players fail to perform - as was the case in respect of Spain. The same experienced Dutch players struggled badly against the totally inexperienced Costa Rica team because on the day the experienced Dutch players under-performed. Were they better against Brazil or did the lack of performance by the Brazil team as a whole caused their disintegration? Headline news here said the Brazil team gifted the Dutch the win - I am merely wondering why the headlines say s that?
