Sad news here in NZ with the passing of Bruce Robertson, arguably the best centre the ABs have ever had. Silky skills and famous for carrying the ball in 2 hands while running at full pace which allowed him to distribute the ball either way and keep the opposition guessing!

A great All Black. I remember him as part of the 1976 All Black touring team to visit here. He then refused to play against the touring Springboks in 1981 because of his strong feelings about apartheid.

I once visited the town of Robertson in Scotland….there was the Robertson store, the Robertson barber, the Robertson pharmacy. A modest place. But the sons and daughters who left to see the world did brilliantly….including Bruce.

Thanks Deus. Sounds like a fine player. Once young, fast, fit and energetic now pushing up daisies. The fate of us all and it won't be too long either and then eternity.
