I was watching the game that was epitomised by a very strong defensive effort by the Cheetahs that won deservedly. The Cheetahs had to defend like anything - since they got only 35% possession.
Now for a few comments. Sassex always preach about Jacques du Plessis. However, the problem with this player is he is clueless about ball handling. If he does not knock on - he loses the ball when tackled. Lot of hard work to be done if he wants to progress furher in his career..
Mozart is always negative about Laabuschagne - but he had a massive game and some of his tackles were driving players back and cause turnovers. Top game as per normal. Showeed how play should be followed up and balls protected.
Goosen came on and played for ten minutes - needs game time to iron out the rough edges - but he had a very nice cay of the ball - unfortunately his pass to Labuschagne - who had an open line to score - went forward when he was tackled.
But the most entertaining part of the game was a race to the ball by the tortoise (Strauss) and the hare (Engelbrecht). What happened is that a Bulls wing knocked on the ball and Pretorius dribble kicked it forward ntowards the half way line The ball was followed up by Strauss and Engelbrecht. Strauss got the better of Engelbrecht and dribble kicked the ball again. Strauss won the race to the ball - caught it in full cry and scored a try.
THE BLOODY HARE LOST THE RACE AND ME MY MONEY
