Bulls to lose Arno Schwarzenegger to Ulster?

Cape Town - The Bulls might be facing a huge setback ahead of their upcoming Super Rugby campaign, 

with reports that Irish club Ulster are interested

 in skipper Arno Botha.




According to the independent.ie website, 

Ulster are "close to capturing" the Springbok

 loose forward.

If the club do succeed with the signing, 

Botha will be the second South African 

flank to join their ranks after they secured

 the signature of Marcell Coetzee.




The Irish club, however, will need to 

be granted permission by the Irish Rugby

 Football Union (IRFU) in order to sign 

Botha.




According to the report, sources suggest

 that the Bulls are "resigned to losing him" 

since his contract expires in October this

 year.








Botha, 25, led his side to the Currie Cup 

final last year, which saw the Blue Bulls lose 

36-16 to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.


Botha has played two Tests for the Springboks - both of those appearances coming in 2013.







Botha is currently part of the Bulls training 

squad as they prepare for their 2017 

Super Rugby campaign which will kick

 off against the Stormers on Saturday,

February 25 at Newlands

Arno Botha has learnt to write and now signed for London Irish from Super Rugby side the Bulls.

Botha, capped twice by the Springboks, can operate as either a flanker or number eight and has teamed up with fellow countrymen Franco van der Merwe, Petrus du Plessis, Sebastian De Chaves and Richard Palframan at the club’s Hazelwood training complex today.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join London Irish, a club that is steeped in history and tradition,” said Botha. ...(Mmmm- The only tradition it has is signing foreign players).

“I’ve always wanted to test myself in northern hemisphere rugby and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of getting carted off in a new injury Buggie. "Additionally, I am also looking forward to juicing some new creatine and hope my legs are strong enough to hold my body weight".

This guy Arno was going to go to Ulster, but they opted out because of his injury record.    London Irid is one of the weaker teams in England - so they must be happy to take a chance with him.   

As to an Zyl - he also fell off the buss with the Bulls and he then stated he was going to terminate his career and go farming in the Free State.   They never played him in the CC comp and used Ivan van Zyl instead.   

Both were very promissing players initially - but constant injuries to Botha ruined his career possibilities.    In the case of Van Zyl he was very good for the re State and then made the fatal mistake of going to the Bulls - where the Ludeke spook caused a real destruction of his career.

Wish them well for the future.

He may well find himself playing division rugby when Irish are relegated at the end of the season.
