what a debacle - one SA Team rolling over for the other to ensure there are 3 SA Teams in the Top 6 - where is the pride????? and this is not the first time either!

Don't worry sonny. SA teams are doomed to oblivion.

You are completely wrong in this case.   No side will willingly lose to allow another side to beat them to manufacture log points    This kind of thing could have happened in New Zealand in the past if actual results are taken into account - but never ever was a loss by 20 points manufactured.  It could have been the case if the losing side got a bonus point in the process - but they did not.

Do you really think that the Bulls would want to be below the Crusaders on the log and have to travel to Chriistchuch to play the play-off game there and not in Pretoria?    For that is the likely scenario in the play-offs if the won or evn lost and get a bonus point in the process     There are too many difficulties for the Bulls in such a scenario.    They would have loved to have the case the other way around - but that would now NOT be possible without a bonus point loss.

By making that statement about the Sharks-Bulls game - what about the Crusader-Chiefs game?    The other way around there was a real danger of the Crusaders not being in the top 6 at all.   The latter game was interpersed with some of the silliest mistakes I have ever seen by both the two teams - and that could have been interpreted as a plot to get the Crusaders within striking range of being 4th on the combined log.

By further deduction it could easily have happened that the Chiefs would be off the top spot on the combined log by losing the game and the same scenario for an ultimate visit by them to Cape Town could be their fate.   No New Zealand team would like to play the final at Newlands.   That could have been fatal - same as what happened to the All Blacks Juniors.    It is still a real possibility as a result of the loss to the Crusaders - so make logical and not ilogical conclusions.    Fact is on the night the Sharks were superior to the Bulls by a mile - and the Chiefs-Crusader game was very good - with a number of silly mistakes on both sides.

The Conquistidor - do not make unsubstantiated statements and give a rugby-based reason for your comments.   That is my bestt advice possible to any new member.

Clevermike, the Reds fans are moaning that the Warratahs rolled over for the Brumbies just to make sure the Reds don't make it into the Top 6 hehehe! and guess who the Reds are playing this weekend LOL - after what the Queensland Maroons did to the NSW Blues in the State of Origin Rugby League decider, expect fireworks! Hopefully it will be a good game!

I agree with you.  I think the coming games could be crunch games -insofar as positions 4, 5 and 6 are concerned and I do expect fire works in the final round-robin games.   Both the Stormers and nthe Chiefs cannot be dislodged from positions 1 and 2 - the possibilities are remotely possible - but really not realistic.   So the conteion would be positions 4, 5 and 6 on the log.

Good play would help - so lets wait and see.
