Not sure how many of you saw James Venter's try to make it Bulls 20 Sharks 19 after half an hour, but do yourself a favour and watch it on the highlights.

Come on Sharks!

Just to add, Cameron Hanekom also scored a brilliant loose forwards try earlier. Really good rugby!

I watched the whole first half and ooked o speciafically for Hanekom and venter - both loosies and those two tries  says it all,   Hnekom also got a posesson turnover at a breakdwn.

I also think that lock Van Heerden was very good = not only the charge down try he scored.ad his line-out performances.

By the way I thought Esterhuizen was on the Sharks teamsheet.   If I have to rate him as a performer inthe first half it woulfd have been a 2.10  - the 2 was infuenced by a missed tackle - a suicide pass and another pass that bounced on the gtounfd but mranst o forward movement a a result.   He was nowhere in sight when the Sharks 14 ran a line between the Sharks 10 andd 12 and made ay leas 30 meer progress when e passed te ball to ccetzee wo knocked it on.

Esterhuizen scored a try from a brakdiwn when hew as stavdibg wide out and had no defender in front og jim when teh ball was passe to him.   Deserve credit for that one 0 but for the rest he was harmless and useless.

Looks like the sharks are on fire as the score is now 33-30 for the sharks….but the Bulls still have a bit of time to turn the tide.

Bulls take the kick to level it up at 33-33 rather than push for a winning try against 13. Sharks back to 14 imminemtly.

Now Goosen has a shot for poles to win it. Even if he misses the Bulls are almost certain to win with 20 minutes of extra time with an extra man.

He misses!

That's a hard penalty against the Sharks. The guy literally did nothing and even tried to get out of it. It's the law but these penalties always strike me as grossly unfair. Kick missed anyway, Sharks through.

The whole match with  20 minutes extra time hwed us one thing.  That is tht Jakeball does not win  matces/   t oe stage of circa 12 mutes had 15 playes on te field and the Sharks 12 players and the Bulls we in te Shaks 22 a sting of penlties to the Balls and they decided on scrums.  In the end tthe ball handdling of the Bulls were poor and they could not take advantage of eh 3 exra players - there was no moves to benefot by the Bulls - no plan toscore a m,atchwinining try.   Ir was really poor playing by the Bulls.

Th playes I note as beig outranding are -

*    The Bulls    -  Hanekom and  Cobus Wiese

*    Sharks         -   Van Heerden lock and veenter (loosie?

I hope Erasmus take note of those 4 players in future,  Van Hwewn shoul d b played as a lossie - he is good n line-outs but only weighs 106 kgs.

Jake is not the Currie Cup coach. " Phiwe Nomlomo has been appointed as the head coach of the Vodacom Bulls for the 2024 Carling Currie Cup campaign." Cobus Wiese is definitely a talent. He showed that already at the time that he played for the Stormers. And Hanekom was at the alignment camps, so he will maybe be in the home Puma game or atleast in the squad.

As I understand it Jake White is the Bulls Director of rugby and all coaches fall under him,.   That 12 minutes the Sahrks had only 12 players ad the Bulls 15. payers - at th team did was wha in plain language is BS.

he biggest sharehoders in the Bulls franchise are Rupert amd Motsepe and they have Brits as their rugby co-ordinstor.   Theywil not be happy as to what happened today.

I think if Erasmus is really interested  he should bring in Gous soon into the sqiad and use him/ as our exosting locks are all a bit long in the tooth.   I also like what I aw of Van Heerden - but to my mnd he should be a loosie and not used as a lock.

What a game, bulls just can't close games out and win when it counts. The lose their composure and just implode. Almost like they out of Ideas. Their line out completely imploded and their star player like Goosen and Marcel Coetzee just faded. No wonder Rassie doesn't rate them.

Well done for the Sharks. To be down to 12 players, hang in there and still win.

Bulls had all the advantage. Great advertisement for Curry Cup rugby.

A little bit too many points for my liking, but none the less, lots of drama

KC

Goosen had a problem though his nose was broken early in the match and he kept playing nonetheless,   Towards the end he faded out though - most likely because of he injury.   Coetzee is already 33 years of age and should be phased out by the Bulls since  he is not the player he sued to be.    .
