Ireland centre Bundee Aki is on the four-man shortlist for the World Rugby men's player of the year award.

France captain Antoine Dupont is also nominated, along with two players set to feature in the Rugby World Cup final - South Africa lock Eben Etzebeth and New Zealand back row Ardie Savea.

I guess Clever wasn’t on the panel….hahaha. Great to see Eben and Savea up there, two players who provide so much value. As I suggested a few weeks back it should be Eben and probably will be if the Boks win.

But you always quote the panel as being ‘made up of experts’ when I challenge the laughable Dud Tout player of the year award.

So you made your own bed, I didn’t choose Aki, the panel did. Seems they thought he outplayed the other Dud.

Poor old Clever…he thought I was proposing Bundi and then attacked. He was so excited he posted twice. Now he can’t figure out a response that doesn’t make him look like a fool.

A bit of a popularity selection aside from Aki. Eben has been no slouch, but has he been the best South African this season? Ox, Kwagga, Esterhuizen. These men made big impacts. All three should be starters.

As for Aki, he has been by far the most dominant centre in world rugby. I can't say any player stood out individually this season like he has. He outplayed Damian comprehensively, but that's not saying much, Damian has never outplayed an opposite 12 in any one of his tests. Aki is a tremendous athlete, skillful, purposeful, intelligent, and makes it all look easy. When he is around you sense something is going to happen. An exciting player. Finally, rugby can have a worthy POTY. However, if the Boks do win the WC, I imagine Eben will get it. No disrespect to Eben, but Aki has been far better and consistently so this year.

Solid shortlist, one you can actually say is based on merit and not media hype .

Akin did nothing prior. What laugh. We know where it stems from Pom Pom... in your mind the most mediocre test 12 we've ever seen is the best in the world. We all know Aki and Kerevi have abused poor Dumbian. Aki has been very good for some time now. He has been the best of the three this season.

Yeah, I'm very surprised DDA hasn't been nominated. I mean he caught a loose ball against France and it resulted in a try. What more could we ask if the man?

Poor Doos says - He outplayed Damian comprehensively, but that's not saying much, Damian has never outplayed an opposite 12 in any one of his tests. But unfortunately for Doos Bundee never scored a try. Allende helped to completely neutralise the poor guy. Hahahahahahahahahahha. Poor Doos sees what he wants to see.Allende says the Doos never outplayed his opposite number in any of his tests. Proving Doos is a totally biased blowhard, bigoted, boring buffoon! Hopefully Eben has a great game, Boks win and Eben is World Player of the year. If the Boks win its being said that Rassie will be world coach of the year. To all that I hope the Boks will be world team of the year. and the number 1 ranked team in the world.    In other words oaks I am hoping for a repeat of that clean sweep Rassie and the Boks achieved in 2019.Should all this come to pass be warned that the Boks would have been even better had Rassie not been coach. Yes I kid you not that is the spin the very frot rooiwtit aims to put on things and he will doubtless be joined by the even frotter mozzzz and the frottest of them all Doos himself. Then we have the brigade who mocked and trashed Allende and Kriel. How silly they look today. They always hopelessly overstated their preferences, got very emotional and the EGG landed. Hahhahahahahahahaha
As for Rassie he now stands as a RWC winner and a finalist. A great achievement by a brilliant coach. We never really had the benefit either of top players like Marx, Lood and AM. Two key members of the tight five and a very skilful outside center. Marx though was the biggest loss the greatest hooker in world rugby.I 2019 it was Mozzz and the doos against the world. Having made the final its that way again.

If Eben has a good game and the Springboks win this WC final he should get the award.

What a fitting way for a player such as Eben to get that award in his last turn out for the Boks.

Great close for an outstanding career in my humble opinion.

Bundee never scored a try against us and that disqualifies him?  But he did outgain Dud Allende 66 meters to 18, he did make a clean break which of course Dud hardly ever does. Domination I’d say. That clear mastery of Dud undoubtedly influenced his nomination.

Allende has never neutralized anything but the Boks. He is a clog, an encumbrance, a pesterous peasant, an oaf, the ass to Nche's ox, a bumbler, a bluffer, a ponderous and plodding calamity. Watching Damian in motion and in thought is like watching a baby deer jittering in a panic. Some day I hope he goes far, and stays there. Damian is the reason G-d created the middle finger. He is a gray sprinkle on a rainbow cake. Mr Beanbag, please, desist. I implore you. If you cannot fathom good sense, then how about some good riddance. Danke.

We play a defensive type of game on the whole so its not surprising Bundee  made more meters. The Irish love running and passing and the stats showed they made close to double the passes we did. But all their fancy passes loops, obstruction running came to very little. They only scored one try no more than we did and the great Bundee was neutralised largely through the fantastic defence of Allende.

End of story

Actually I have never seen Allende excelling at defense. Against Ireland he missed 20% of his tackles.

So here’s a challenge to the Allendistas….point me to one dominant tackle Dud has ever made..,,mostly he goes high and clings, which is why he remains vulnerable in space.

Damian is a terrible defender. He lead super rugby in 2015 for most missed tackles, and look at the results in the RC that season. He tanked the Wallaby test all by himself, and he was one of the two reasons why we lost to NZ in the WC (the other being the totem pole defender, Lood). Damian is weak head on and weak laterally. Not a good defender. There are a few instances of him straining over nearly a quarter of the field or more to put a runner down, being swatted away like a confused mosquito. He regularly blows assignments. He doesn't think, he just reacts. The last of the good Wallaby sides loved to isolate him, and watch him tie himself in knots. He was so confused in one test that he ended up with his back to Kuridrani and standing still as play passed him by. Confused. Damian is a horrendous player. I have never seen a more fundamentally flawed centre in all my life. Not even in primary school. To think, Esterhuizen has to watch in the stands or the hotel for this. If I was him, I'd have stayed in Japan, and rather played for them. What a waste of a talent. This Bok side is too filled with bluffers. Reputations that never materialized into something more.

Probably if Ireland got through to final Bundee would be No. 1 but Savea takes it.
