Schalk was meant to be back ages ago- his injury has been problematic. Will he be back for the 4 nations.

As for Juan Smith- does anyone have an update on him?

The fact we hav heard nothing means that the news can only be negative for an early return.

I personally do not think that Burger would ever be fit to return to international or Super 15 rugby.   He has not really played any rugby thus far this year and has now been off rugby for 6 months.   That means he is not playing fit as yet and he will not be fit for the 4-Nations.   Despite his huge performances of the past - I have written him off as a furture Springbok loosie - a huge loss, but not an irreplacable one - we are [particulalry blessed with good loosies.

I think that Coetzee is playing mind games about Vermeulen - I think he will be back for Saturday.

Personally i think Juan is done for it. He is farming and focussing on other stuff like his butchery. I doubt if he will be back. If he does come back I will be extremely surprised.

We will have to wait on Schalk, but something like this doe not look good. It seems he will defenitely be out of the championship, as he won't be matchfit. We will see come the CC and only then make the assesment if he will ever be back.

More than likely he will ready for the Oct/Nov tours, but by that time will he be first choice?

i just find it very odd that players like burger vermeulen and koster ext all are suffering from long term injuries. is it just bad luck or is it just poor player management coupled with medical staff that are not up to standard ????

even if AC is playing mind games plum and co are not stupid enough to fall for it. if vermeulen plays or does not play it wont affect the way the stormers play or for that matter of fact how the sharks play

Agreed- the rehab team at the Stormers may be lucky to still be in jobs. All these loose forwards should be back ages ago. None have hit the target date.

Andries Bekker gets played into the ground- even though they have 4 quality locks this year- one of which is leaving to Ireland due to lack of game time,

@sharkbok,

LMAO, cmon bro, u cant blame the stormers rehab team cos those guys havent recovered from theit injuries, thats absurd.
i do agree that bekker gets played into the ground, but hes played more this year then he has in recent years i think, or at least it seems that way, but player mangement falls on the coach and i have a sneaky susoicion that a coetzee is feeling the pressure just a little bit at the lack of silverwaree in super rugby, despit the stormers powerhouse status the last few years.

 Gentlemen,

I do not think that these two players will ever play in the S15 or Test arena again.

Pity but after all the hits they have taken I fear its game over.

Great players and did sterling work for their S15/Currie Cup teams and SA Rugby.

Trust they receive the honours they deserve.

@sasuke stormers powerhouse status ????? the last time the stormers/wp won a major comp was when chester williams was still playing boet....that is 12+ years ago biggest dry spell in history. there so called status is self imposed in my view. like a boxer running around telling everyone he is the best just to promote himself as such. they are a decent outfit and comepetes but is not a champ winning side. that honours belongs to teams like crusaders and the bulls ext. they actually win something.

@sharkbok i just cant quite gather how they have this injuries and yet every week they seem to be coming back then only to be set back again. so to me something must be going wrong there. you pickup a injury and go for rehad and come back. there is a set time. that is pretty straight forward so to me i am really not sure how these poor players are taking so long.
