Butch makes intelligent points, doesn't become a sychophant like Stransky. And he sees lots of the small incidents .....let's hope he is here to stay.

Schalk was on Sky sports and he also made some very interesting observations.
He said that the new players looked extremely good on attack, but if there is any criticism is that they need to work more on their game when they did not have the ball.
The Boks defence was too weak against England, and the All Blacks will be ruthless if given these type of gaps in open play.

Stranksy is emotional. Butch was always a watchful, thinking person. I saw a very good interview with him many, many years ago that showed a very good understanding of the game, so I'm not surprised to hear what you're saying.
@Sharkbok: Agreed. The Boks at times were easy to run through. This is the nature of Super rugby that manifests itself at test level, much to my loathing! The we run, now your run etc. mentality. Right now I'd say we don't have enough stopping power to really overcome New Zealand.

Both products of Maritzburg College,my old school, both flyhalfs of WC winning teams but very different in tempe rament...yes Joel has a tendancy to get over-excited but on the playing field was as calm as a Free State town on a Sunday (his drop was the biggest drama ever on a rugby field and he certainly is no sychophant. Butch is not emotional and actually is quite different and tends to stick to the point and yes I think he's better speaker.
But both are great guys...we don't have sycophants at College...especially in old college...quite the contrary.
