Yes, Its true folks. Eye Witness News has confirmed that Bryce Lawrence’s refereeing days are over!! Woop woop
According to Eye Witness News, SANZAR Head of Referees Lyndon Bray has exclusively confirmed that New Zealand referee Bryce Lawrence’s Test career is all but over.
After he made a joke of the Rugby World Cup Quarter Final between the Boks and the Wallabies, the IRB removed Bryce from its elite panel of referees for future Test matches. He subsequently refused to travel to South Africa (not surprisingly of course).
Bray told Eyewitness News Sport that Lawrence won’t be officiating at Test match level anymore.
“From an IRB perspective he has not been selected in the test. There’s a decision that we as selectors in the IRB made back in March. His time is over at that level.”
Bray told EWN that while Lawrence is still involved in Super Rugby his reluctance to travel to South Africa means that him getting back into the Test fold in future is highly unlikely
“At this stage he is clearly not on the team. His challenge would be, if it’s possible, to find his way back again. And I think given the reality and what he’s gone through and the situation he’s in at the moment that would be a huge ask.”
Any comments :)
