Anyone watching Bulls vs Ulster?

Hanekom having yet another brilliant game. If this guy isn't a Springbok before the end of this year then I'm going to go back to calling Rassie names . . .

He is playing well. Cricket score in the end. Nice score from Erich to finish it off.

I will always prefer a clever player ahead of dumb muscle and Wiese and Van Staden is indeed dumb mucsle ad I would always to prefer Hanekom and Roos ahead of those  two players ,

But Rassie is a genius and loves Wiese. He prefers Wiese to anybody else...even Roos.

Explain.

Wiese isn't that bad...brute force Hulk smash juggernaut...Roos and Hanekom will be in the mix, but Wiese is more than just dumb muscle...he deserves his spot.

Wise and Van Staden are not dumb muscle and both are effective players.

Hanekom will come into the mix. Great depth slowly building.

Dixon hasn't impressed me so far. Like Moerat he seems to lack fire. Time will tell.

For me Van Staden and Wiese will not tie in with the 15 man rugby concept.   The key to having that kind of game requires the loosies to remain part of the forward game - but having the pace and ball sense  to tie into the backline attacking game plan,   I think ultimately Erasmus and Browne will agree on the players and Van Staden was left out of the Argentine tests already.   I do not think he will be back in the Springbok squad  again.   Wiese may remain part of the Springbok squad - but he may end up as a bench player - dpending against  which countries the Springboks will play in tests,

When someone makes a point, you ask for clarification, and the reply with "You'll see." I'm not asking for predictions. I'm asking why Rassie selected Wiese if he's dumb muscle.

Wiese does also play a linking role, but his core characteristics is that of a strong Ball carrier and effecting turnovers. He plays a similar game to Duane and therefore he is picked by Rassie. Van staden is Mediocre and not the ideal choice. I struggle to see the reason for his inclusion. Especially if you think of other talent like Cameron Hanekom, that is available.

Indeed, I don’t see it either...

Mpower

The times I saw Wiese carrying balls was normally after kick-ins and he ran straight into the oppositin forwards,   I have not seen him playing any role other than that,    He also tends to give penalties away at breadown points and I cannot remember any turnovers in possession involving him.    If we want to see perfection of the new attacking game plan - then Roos would be a better option - he has more pace and ball sense and skills than Wiese have,  The same applies o Hanekm as well.

In years before Erasmus took over the choise of loosies were based on being n extesnion of the Tight 5 - while the present situation and plan is for the loosies to assist both the forwards in Tight 5 play - but also in joining the bacline in attacking play.  That is why Du Toit is such an exceptional player.

Hanekom has to be a Bok on the EOYT it’s a no brainer Rassie likes Wiese, I recall Keo having watched Rassie and Wiese at one of the press conferences saying Rassie clearly likes Wiese as a person which helps when it comes to selections I’ve warmed to Wiese - was all dumb muscle at first but still mostly is but it’s effective dumb muscle On the evidence of this weekends showings, the likes of Ruben v Heerden, David Kriel, Wilco Louw, Ethan Hooker and that man Jurenzo Julius simply have to be added to the Bok squad

Jurenzo Julius is special - not only is he really quick off the mark which is a massive asset when trying to beat defenders, he is big and powerful, has a great step and more than anything has a great rugby brain with good hands - he reminds me of Am but with potentially even more ammo This guy is going to be a Bok great It’s going to be interesting to see who his inside centre partner is going to be I really like the look of Ethan Hooker and have always been a fan of David Kriel’s exploits at 12 I’ve said it a few times now I’d like to see Willemse at 12 Jordan Hendrikse was good at 12 for the Lions before he moved to the Sharks I am also a big fan of Jurenzo’s Baby Bok inside centres Bruce Sherwood and Josh Boulle So there are some great prospects at 12 and some handy back ups at 13 in Moodie and Henco v Wyk
