Meyer doesn't have the conviction to back his gut instinct. He usually gives in to the fans and that stunts the Boks. Why return to Lambie? Why drop Hougaard? Why bring back JP when Hendricks has been a revelation? He needs to draw a line in the sand and stick with it.

Players must be developed at their Franchises, it is Meyer's responsibility to develop experienced players in his squad.

If you expect the national coach to do any development of any kind, you h ave to accept the concept of players arriving at the Bok squad because of their potential and not because of their abilities. The Bok squad/camp should be a finishing school and not a development school. A senior player who requires development does not deserve to be in the squad.

Why paly oupa he is clearly not ready. here is a case where the guy must prove himself at Super rugby.

Beenkop I have been saying for ages Meyer is utterly useless. ....is the penny finally dropping.
We will be exiting the WC after the quarters thanks to Meyer and his selections.

Ceradyne, that's what fans have been saying for years. For mediocre players like Lambie, even ex-players and coaches say that you must play him because of his potential. If only he had a chance, he would be successful later down the line. So they would have you invest years on a hunch, because he has potential.
