what the situation is when a prop scrums inwards and push into the hooker and when a prop does not bind and push with his hand on the ground. I thought both are actually to be penalised. I noticed the referee tonight penalized the Cheetahs at least three times when the Brumbies props were doing just that
It was so bad that Pretorius actually spoke to the line judge about that one and it was less noticeable in the second half - apparently someone gave Jackson a talk at half time to remind him of the rule. Problem is that by then the damage has already been done.
I suspect there will be some repercussions about refereeing of games again and that Jackson will be put in the cooler too. No more Super 15 refereeing for him as well.

Obviously the Aussie commentators would praise him as doing a fine job - but you have not answered the questions I put about scrumming - so I assume you are backing Jackson purely because he is a New Zealand referee.
I am sure he would have been spoken to by Strauss and Drotske pointing out he was making a mess of the scrum refereeing and even line judges could have pointed out to him that he was wrong.

Lets leave out the assumptions and concentrate on the factual issue of scrumming and specifically the questions I asked. As far as I am concerned I watched those scrums twice and came to the conclusion that Jackson was wrong in interpretation of the scrum laws in ALL THE CASES where he awarded penalties for scrumming to the Brumbies. .
Please try and prove me wrong on those two issues I mentioned.
