no.....like most teams that grow an extra leg when they play the AB. AB step it up a level against the BOK there our biggest threat always have been. The intensity goes up. Especially at Eden Park.

AB have huge respect for the boks. It is never easy. They will throw everything into this test. For RC points but more importantly AB like records and they intend to extend there winning rate. It is good for AB to lose from time to time but wont be at Eden Park. Good luck Boks

I do not believe that history is necessarily a barometer in dealing with result outcomes. Everyone seems o be in euphoria about the Springboks win yesterday - and so am I - but against the AB's it will be a different kettle of fish altogether.
The match really was to an extent very level until the three tries of the Springboks and one has to look at what can make a difference against the All Bllacks and where were we in fact not really up to standard - bearing in mind that the All Blacks are unlikely to allow the Springboks to score soft tries.
In essence there are problems which could lead to a problem for the Springboks. These include -
* the line out situation where the only effective line-out player was Etzebeth (8 line-out takes) - all of Vermeulen, Van der Merwe and Kruger took three line out balls - whih in effect means that the rolling maul will not be a weapon for the Springboks.
* the giving away of penalties - between Van der Merwe and the loosies they gave away 6 penalties - while Alberts also got yellow-carded;
* despite the approbation there was a number of very ineffective and aimless kicks by both Steyn and Pienaar - which the Wallabies did not maximise - so all is not that rosy in that Department either.
I think that it will be an interesting encounter - but I cannot see how the Springboks can win the game. They will have one only major weapon and that is in scrumming. Since we have such limitte line-out options the rolling maul will not work.
I believe the outcome would be tight - but it is likely an AB win by 7+ points.

Mozart
You ignorant old fool - you yourself gave the Sprinbgboks a 25% chance of winning yesterday and - even though normally you are too big a coward to make any predictions before any game - you yourself predicted a Wallaby win by 5 points.
I would rather have egg on my face - than being a coward like you.

On the contrary I never predicted a Wallaby win by 5 points But my "fighting chance", which was one of the more positive positions was too pessimistic, and I fessed up after the game.....what did you do, crawl into a bottle?

A 7 point margin is a respectable prediction. Looking at form over the past 12 months or so I would say it is reasonable to expect a defeat by 10 to 15 points. That is by no means a heavy defeat and will usually come down to 2 or 3 opportunities taken. If we are the ones who use our opportunities then we can more likely convert our pressure in to points if that is how the game develops. I must that that repeating the penalty count, the half-back kicking and the without context lineout stats on each thread is not convincing anyone.

I think the Boks can beat the ABs this weekend.
With McCaw now out only helps their chances....
The big difference is that the kiwis wont just drop the ball and knock on and get the fundamentals wrong - their execution is always 95%+ so will hopefully be close contest - but definitely yes they are in with big chance....
Bok pack need to replicate that effort less the yellow - too lets hope refs don't ruin the show....... on that note commendation to Clancy I think he did a more than fair job....

The Springboks will be extremely confident after a convincing win against the Wallabies. Lets face it this SA team is looking and evolving into a great team far better than anything ive seen for a few years. The AB must match that or they will go down. The Bok tight five is looking very tough and organised with depth.
With the core going well the loose team gets on the front foot. That makes it very tough for the AB. This will be the biggest challenge for the All Blacks that I have seen for some time. With the SA coach showing a lot of passion and enthusiasm that must trickle down threw the rest of the team. They look settled and prepared. AB must attack there rucks and mauls with far more aggression and ruthlessness if they want any chance to succeed.
