I know the conditions were atrocious - but they really played like rubbish.   Pietersen started off by beimng unable to field 2 high balls andd then the parade of errors followed.   At least habana and Aplon tried to play and had some success in carrying the ball.  De Jongh did nothing - and De Villiers was pathetic.   Grant did one thing well and that was the kick leading to Aplon's try.    Duvenhage did kick the ball directly into touch twice - but he was not alone at that.

Sinclair showed nothing and Kolisi the same.   The two players shining amongst the Stormers forwards were Bekker and Elstadt - the rest needs lessons as to forward play   The props were poor and Fourie took one or two balls from the opposition in a maul situation.     Alltogether one of the poorest game from the Stormers I saw in a long time.     Ho0wever, it is likely now that they would get a home semi - but that does not take back from the fact that they played badly all game long.

I think Brussow played well and he stole quite a number of stormer balls -   but he also gave away crucial penalties.    However, the conditions was so bad that he could get into a good position often enough.   The rest of the Cheetahs did some brilliant thing at times - but they could not break down the Storemerss defence.

Say what you like about Grant, he is certainly a far better option than Morne for the Boks. He has been good all S15 and deserved his MOM today. Give me Grant anyday over the ordinary Morne.

Kolisi was huge, what game were you watching. Brussouw was great and must be returned to Bok duty. Jean and de Jongh are an average combo, with de Jongh being ineffective match after match. If Coetzee had had any sense he would have played Pat Howard ages ago

I like Kolisis - and his performance today was not as bad as some of the others.   I only mentioned Bekker and Elstadt amongst the forwards - sorry I left out Ko0lisi.

My comments on Brussow was also favourable but whether he would be brought back to replace Coetzee I doubt very much.   I certainly mention De Jongh and De Villiers in a negative way and am surprised about your comments on Grant.   I have always insisted that Meyer should play Grant at 10 - whilst Goosen is not available.   When the latter gfets back - I think he really is the flyhalf of the future.

Meyer would be pretty stupid to leave Brussouw out of the mix, even if he does not start him, he needs to be brought back into the squad. There is a good case for moving Coetzee to 8

Come now - if there is a straight choice between Vermeulen and Coetzee for the no 8 position - my vote will always go to vermeulen.   Let Coetzee stay at 6 - he belongs there - and has proven that already.   Brussow was poor in the WC and but for the last two matches, atrocious in Super 15.   Meyer would NEVER pick him ahead of Coetzee - and I would support him in that.

Mike you always get it wrong dont you. The general consensus is that Vermeulen is too slow for 8 and should only be considered for the 7 spot.

Move Coetzee to 8, play Elstadt or Vermeulen at 7 and Brussouw or Kolisi at 6

Taurus exretus my friend.  Vermeulen did very well at 8 for the Stormers.  If speed is the only consideration - you must really be a Spies supprter.   You want to create artifical vacancies and play Coetzee at 8 - where I believe he has never played on Super 15 or test level.     All that to create a vacncy for Kolis and Brussow.  W hat a farce to want to destroy the career of a proven player in a proven position.  Come nw - get real for a change.

Um Mike, Coetzee played as an 8 at school and U20 level, so has played most his rugby as an 8. The loose trio is about finding a place for the best 3 loosies we have. Our best loosies are Coetzee, Kolisi, Elstadt and Brussouw who are currently playing

Please  Saffex - get pour statement right.   I refer to Super 15 and test level - where Coetzee was good - you refer to school and junior rugby.   Really good players develop in a position and Coetzee has.   Taken him out of that position - and they have to start afresh.

Take Spies for example.   He was a wing and switch to no 8.  He never adjusted in the latter position and his play at the best of times is a farce.   That is a more drastic change than to move a player from 6 to 8 - but there are still serious differences between what is required differently in the two positions.   Maybe I am conservative - but changes like that could destroy the performance of a player - and I would never wish Coetzee to be in such a position.    Leave him at 6 - he earned that position through dedication and good play.

By the way - did you notice how Mozart changed his comments from Coetzee not making the grade - to now supporting him all out?   Some of our comments must have influenced him after all.

Mike if a player has played most his life as an 8, moving him from 6 or 7 to 8 at Super 15 level will be an easy transition, for not only is he massively talented, he is also very familiar with the position - for crying out loud, how much more obvious is that?
