Samoa and Hurricanes back Alapati Leiua has signed for London Wasps for next season.
The 25-year-old Wellington utility is Wasps' sixth signing for next season and will join the club ahead of the 2014-15 season starting in September.
Rugby director Dai Young says he is impressed by what he has seen of the Samoan-born player, who is the younger brother of London Irish flanker Ofisa Treviranus.
"He will add power and pace to our backline options.
"He is powerful, has good feet and knows where the tryline is, and I am sure he will make a big impact here."
Leiua says it is the right time in his career to move offshore and likes what Wasps, who are seventh in the 12-team premiership, have to offer.
"After considering a number of options the decision to join London Wasps was made easy after meeting with Dai Young and hearing his vision for the future of the club," Leiua said in a club statement.
In five seasons of NPC rugby with Wellington and four Super Rugby campaigns with the Hurricanes, Leiua has largely been employed as a wing.
However, he has been effective in recent weeks at second five-eighth for the Hurricanes, who have won four successive games to climb to fourth place.
He pledged his international allegiance to Samoa last year and played five Tests.
