the greatest rugby rivalry in NZ auckland vs canterbury, was not a perfect game, but was freaking entertaining as fudge.
great attcking displays early on, before both teams tried to muscle control, a ploy which favoured canterbury.
pretty good game with stereotypical canterbury getting off to a slow start, but finishing off strongly.
their entire team was just on song and while auckland had plenty of patches of brilliance with 1st half stats well in their favour, the canterburians were just way too clinical.
the 2nd half though was all canterbury, as blues probably disheratend by trailing in the 1st half just never showed up and the crusaders just kept on coming and getting stronger with every second.
glen jackson the referee was a little out of his elemnt at times, a few costly questionable calls and noncalls
were made, but nothing that was detrimental to auckland losing IMO.
its hard to pick a solid player from the canterbury team, buttom taylor had a strong game, i really think he has a lot to offer the All Blacks in the near future, can play 10, 12 and 15 and play them very well with a prestigous boot that saffa flyhalves would be impressed with.
all in alll a great team effort so a big congrats to canterbury, a record 5 in a row titles is no small feat.
on side note it was nice to see auckland score the last try, a small concilation, but if u spin some beeno logic on it, the auckland team actually won, LMAO, :P
