Man, how on earth did this guy even make the bok team. He has no clear history, but rather a hyped up age group player. I have not seen any meaningful games or a highlight real to speak of. If you look at the likes of RG, Etzebeth, Lood or even Nortje, you can see these guys have impacts on their games. Be it big hits, hard carries or winning opposition ball. Instead, blessed with a darker tan, and able to get through a professional game, now became the bok captain. 

He is already 26 and do you want to tell me that this guy is the replacement for Etzebeth? 

Looks Rassie is caught between philosophies. With Nienaber defence and percentage rugby it is okay to select brain dead players, but I don't see how this guy will have an impact. Where on earth is Vermaak or Nortje

Moerat is utterly ordinary…another political selection. Making him captain when he hasn’t any international credentials is utterly cynical.

A bad joke selecting him as a starter or even include him in the Springbiok camp and then making him Kaptein is nothing but stupid.

Rassie must be positioning himself for a political career once he gets replaced I guess.

Actually he's left it for too late if he was to join the ANC they have as we know been shredded in the recent elections, he'd be better off joining the even more useless EFF Hahahahaha

But on a more serious note there is a new non ANC sports minister and it wouldn't surprise if he digs a huge hole and buries quota selections.

Moerat shouldn't even be in the team. He has only played 600 min all season and yet to play a full game. 

His first class games are only at 30 and he is already 26 years old. 

He has been hyped up from school boy level and has very strong political connected family who has a big influence over WP rugby. If you read the history, many of his family members feel hard done by. 

I'm not saying he is a bad player, but I have watched all the Stormers games this season and can honestly say between him and Dweeb that the Stormers line out never worked well. 

Big poser if you ask me.

Rassie's under pressure from the colour counting controllers .................. at this stage of his tenure there should be at least 54%  p.o.c. in the team ................ sadly we were down to 33% in the Irish tests.  The p.o.c. selections for Saturday -- up to 44% (& having a colourful captain gives us a bonus point) but em who must be obeyed are not happy chappies.

Just want to point out how one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

I was at a test match in Sydney watching the Boks vs Oz. Next to me was an Ozzie and his son, we had a chat after the game and I remember him saying '..... that #7 was everywhere,' he was referring to Mostert.

I am very pleased to see my stance taken just after th ANC came to power that merit selections were he only way to go and that selecting on the basis of race was racist. Clearly my arguments have won the day. 

At the time Rooitwit said I was a Nazi etc (rooitwit had heard from somebody that Hitler an the nazis were bad dudes). It was hugely amusing that when Rooitwits unfortunate son didnt get a job because of affirmative action he flipped on the issue and was wailing away and very bitter.

That said one has to remember no Bok coach can ignore the expectations of Government. That is the unfortunate reality. Rassie brilliantly opted for Kolisi as captain and got the country behind the Boks. And no I don't think Kolisi was a great captain but he was well supported and carried himself with dignity and goodwill.

The first problem Rassie faces in selecting a Bok squad is to ensure there are sufficient people of colour in the team. Other Bok coaches crashed and burned not having the coaching and people skills to manage this. Rassie succeeded in making a band of brothers out of a diverse group of player who would lay it all on the line. We saw this incredible fighting spirit at the recent world cup. where one close match after another was won by a side that refused to lie down. It was a hugely inspiring effort for the people of South Africa and the team returned to a well deserved and massive heroes welcome.

I have not see Moerat play that often but my impression was he was a physical and competent lock. I am hoping we will stop playing locks who can't dominate physically. As Sean Fitzpatrick famously said South Africa's big athletic forwards are our competitive advantage or words to that effect.

Meanwhile ou mozzzietard sitting at some exclusive gated golf club in crime ridden demonrat run Chicago was horrified when Rassie and the Boks won for a second time. All his dreams of being vindicated after year of slurs, slanders and fibs crashed and burned. Instead of being like rooitwit and admitting he got Rassie wrong he continues to this day smearing Rassie and undermining the coach at every turn. 

The hard truth is that we don't have true 4 lock like Etzebeth in the team. Maybe Rassie feels he is the guy to replace Eben. 

But I'm sure there must be some boere meat somewhere in that mould which haven't unearthed yet

If Mostert is selected by Rassie as a lock in any test and you claim that Rassie is the best coach/manager to led the Springbok squad why do you continue with your negative comments about Mostert and never accuse Rassie of screwing up.

When you support Elton a few seasons ago you hailed him as the hero for the Boks.

Well that was all BS both on and off the field with him.

Most of the members on this forum have suggested that Moster is a good lock and never fails to lay it on the line in every test.

Well most except for you and a few of the Stormers supporters.
