Great to see this lad is back. He was Etzebeth's lock partner in the Baby Bok side. Has finished a 2 year stint in France and is on the Cheetahs bench this weekend.

 

 

Good player and nice to see players returning

Good to see under utilized wing Mjekevu is also returning after the folding of the French club he is at. He is said to be returning to WP

 Mjekevu shot his mouth of too soon it looks like..He said his allegiance lies with playing for France and he had met a girl over there and was happier than a pig in shit..
Seems the French weren't as keen on him as he was on them then??

Yep, fully understand he had no choice but I would have thought the powers that be within French rugby would have made sure he links up with another French club to ensure he does his time and becomes eligible for their national team. Perhaps he started off like a freight train and failed to maintain those standards consistently.

I understand Jan Watermeyer may be back at the Stormers soon, the lad has taken US rugby by storm...haha...no pun intended. At 107 kgs and able to run the 100 metres in 11 seconds, he is exactly the kind of fast eigthman we need. A sort of Big Joe with a physical  sting.

I don't think anyone can comment on his form while playing in France and once the club folded, he would have grabbed any opportunity he could get his hands on.

 

 

I doubt he would have made enough of an impression to be snapped up by a top French side

 

 

Just glad he is coming back home as he looked full of promise a few years back as 19 year old playing for the Lions.

 

 

He muscled up considerably after that but somehow never built on from that first year. He certainly has the raw material to be an asset to a side. Has a wicked step on him

More bullshit. His club, Perpignan, didn't fold. They were relegated to the PRO D2. They are still going and will  be fighting for promotion back into the Top14 next season

And some more BS. He played in the Top14 in the 2013/14 season and would have been in the eye of all the other top French clubs. If he really was that good, he would have been scooped up by any of the better clubs. It is easier for a good player to stand out in a weaker side than to stand out among a bunch of super stars. Nahh. I don't buy it. If he was good, he would have been offered a deal with one of the remaining clubs. Biarritz were also relegated together with Perpignan and they are losing players to Toulon (Fabian Barcello), Stade Francais (Raphael Lakafea), Racing Metro (Teddy Thomas), etc, etc.

I rated Watermeyer and Dippenaar who were the young Bulls centre pairs. Neither got much game time behind Olivier, Watermeyer went off to Wales for a stint and Dippenaar is now a Blitzbok stalwart - why you a sking?
