De Allende's second stint at centre is looking better. Good strong running and offloads. His defensive effort was also more solid today. Not the complete package, but he does so much work, why would anybody choose JJ or Steppie ahead of him? Unlike Serfontein he wouldn't have been gassed by Speight either.
Carr had a fine second half. For a while it looked like the loss of Schalk was going to hurt. But Carr stepped up.
De Jong, Botha, Fourie and Groom also had good games. Taute and Coleman were a mixed bag.
For the Cheetahs Brussouw was a lone ranger.....Boom looked planted when he wasn't a creeper. Willie had his worst game of the year. Goosen was unwilling to take contact again and was turned over 3 times. Coenie looked very unconvincing against the Stormers second string props and Sadie was very ordinary.
This wasn't the most hotly contested game....our coaches would do well to rest Bok candidates like Strauss and Willie in these nothing games.
