Carter ... the diufference ...

He brings something special to a team.Any team.

Let’s face it, the Crusaders are pretty much average … until Dan “The Man” Carter comes to town that is.

He has it all. A rugby brain second to very few … if any. His understanding of the game comes so naturally to him. His kicking display out of hand is an awesome weapon. One just doesn’t see him kicking possession away. There is thought behind everything he does.A true proffesional!!

With his deft little inside passes, his chip kicks over the top, consistently knowing when and where the opposition’s full back is and exploiting their poor positional play, his courage on defense, his turn of speed, his ability to gain go forward with crashball running and that with his small frame.  

He sees everything. What a talent!!

He exposed Cooper this weekend once again for the chump he is. I loved it.

I wonder what the Al Blacks are gonna do when he calls it a day? Let’s face it … there’s no one in his league to be found … anywhere.

Rate him as the best rugby player on the planet currently.

We should consider ourselves privileged we're alive and kicking during his era.

He is the difference ... without him ... even more so than King McCaw ... he'll be sorely missed.

While I do agree with the general sentiment, I think it is slightly ignorant to say the Crusaders and All Blacks are average without Carter. Test 2 against France for example... Also T. Taylor and T. Bleyendaal have both put in top-shelf performances at 10 while Dan has been injured.

Are you saying Carter alone beat the reds?? They were dominated all over the park. Carter has the class and consistecy to play well in any team but contrary to what you are saying, playing in the 'saders acutally brings out the best in him.

Put Genia and even Cooper behind the saders pack and what woud happen?

 Funny funston wee dan is a good player but often nz reputations are hyped as when they play against other fragile nz defences there is a try fest.

Currently the abs are well off without mcaaaaw and some other geriatrics they are clinging to. Thankfully the british madam must have given him the boot and so he is back playing rugby.

King Richie will be back but in no way did he play Matt Todd (who is on fire) out of the 7 jersey. The saders can't be that average if McCaw isn't even in the starting XV...  

Carter , his earlier dip in form still had him shoulders above anyone. Now his form is there, he is allowed to stand head & shoulders above. Class is eternal.

Things are easier playing behind a monster pack dominating the opposition. But when his pack loses now and then Carter looked extremely ordinary cough cough England last year coughh cough France 2007 quarters

As do most Flyhalves.

The difference being, when he is in a dominant position he does great things. other 10s can often take quality and turn it to ordinary.

I laugh at people that laugh down Carters ability, as they are often never give an example of a better player.

The difference between the Springboks and Allblacks is they typically have more depth at flyhalfs and inside centre than we do.

With Goosen injured next in line is Morne.

Comparing Carter to Morne is a major difference. 

If we had Carter or a fit Goosen with a few seasons under his belt, we could haveore backline tries. 

Combine this with our rolling maul tries, and things would be much closer.

Pat Lambie was so poor this year, it questions whether he should even continue at 10 or just return to fullback. 

Willie Leroux entering the line from 2nd reciever did give us more attacking dimension, so looking forward to the 4 nations.

Carter is at least an additional man on the field.

The Saders are nothing special and they’ve shown that all season long whilst Carter was sidelined.

He is the brain behind everything they do. He dictates terms there and brings the best out in the boys he plays with.   

Cooper is a chump and trying to compare him to Carter is laughable.  There is no comparison as was shown once again this past Saturday. He was taught a lesson. Should in fact give serious thought to changing careers. A clown would be well suited if you ask me. l

The All Blacks will miss Carter big time. Cruden is average and so is Barrett.

They will eventually learn to be better than they currently are but will never be a Daniel Carter.

Morne Steyn is a laugh a minute. For the life of me making a comparison of this one dimensional player to the genius of Carter is hilarious.

Like I said earlier … Daniel Carter is the difference …Best player on the planet.

Exactly Buzz so Carter is allowed to express himself more cause of his pack. But Carter have how many WC final appearances now again. His total points in a semi or final anyone? Winning drop goals in a tight situation?

Any and every 10 can express himself better with a pack going forward ... that's pretty much obvious.

Not every 10 can assist his pack with go forward. That is also pretty much obvious. Carter does and then some!!

He's been cursed with injury at WC time. That doesn't change the fact that he is a rugby genius.

Australia and South Africa play a similar way in that both countries value their 9 and 10 equally, whereas New Zealand tends to play through their 10 and France has always loved its 9. But that doesn’t mean that Australian 9’s play the same way as South African 9’s. In many ways Gregan and du Preez were completely different players. 

Of course they play off both. Why wouldn't they?  It's part and parcel of a decent rugby game plan.

Playing off one or the other leaves one open to being predictable, easy to read and that could spell disaster.

The All Blacks may look stupid ... but I'm afraid it's only the way they comb their hair.

Again. THEY VALUE THEIR 10 MORE THAN ANYTHING. We and Australia value both and do not give such big responsibility on a 10 like NZ have. That is why they have such class 10's in attacking the line and all round play. Take a 9 out of the equation from SA and Aus and we struggle or a diffferent 10 we struggle. NZ not so. As the 10 will call the shots and control the game. SA the guy who makes the most passes is the 9.

No one said NZ is dumb or anything. You are making wrong conclusions. Its just they have a different strategy and a different guy making the choices where we use the 10 and 9.
