Looking forward to this match. She's gonna be a good one. The Lion Cubs have nothing to lose, away from home, the "rejects" f the professional system, having built a great team culture under Johan A C Kerman, against the perennial under achievers in home finals, coached by Allistair (Love Jake White's game plan) Coetzee.


The WeePee will be under pressure from their expectant supporters in a full stadium, will they chance their arm, or panic and close shop?


Their scrum will be under pressure, line outs probably slightly in their favour, Nizaam Carr perhaps carrying a slight injury against the enthusiastic mobile backrow of the Lions, their halfback pairing perhaps slightly more conservative than Cronje and Boshoff, but perhaps a better midfield and more dangerous back three.


I reckon Lion Cubs  will throw everything at it, and the WeePee will play a more structured game as they wouldn't want the game to open up too much.

Not sure I agree with your midfield comment.

Howard Mnisi is a natural 12 while Taute isn't a center at all.

I'm looking forward to Cilliers taking Schalk on and of course having a blindsider playing 6 for the weepee against Jaco "The Awesome" Kriel should be good to watch.

Kolbe with his elusive running worries me. So does the powerful Senatla and Van Wyk.

Glad to see Coleman on the bench again with the average Catrakilis favoured.

Hope there's no rain.

 BB firstly we have seen Jake teams play both attacking rugby and more conservative rugby so what in the world does the "Love Jake White game plan" mean. I suspect you are blaming Jake for any shortfall by Coetzee.
I doubt WP will not use their potent backline. I suspect they will drive the ball up in the forwards as with Rhodes and Elstadt in the pack they should have an edge in the tighter exchanges.

The WP starting XV could be better with a slight rotation at centre and in the forwards. I would start the great Notshe at 7, Michael Rhodes rather at lock 4 where he's played before and van der Spuy at 12 instead of the inconsistent Taute. Despite the bad decisions by the coach the team can still get the result if the players are on form and focused. What is important for us is that we learn from the errors from last week in Line outs and infringements and other factors from last week. I don't think the 10 man game plan is suited with the forwards we have at the moment, it just isn't going to work as well. WP will need to put the outside backs into space with ball in hand and less kicking in order for the team to contest and win. Kolbe and Senatla are the key players to spark something in attack. 

I do think the game is going to open up at some point it just depends on whether the time is right for both teams to do so. I highly respect the Lions and I very much like the way they have been playing. I'm a fan of Howard Mnisi, Jaco Kriel and others. Apart from the fact that the Lions have brilliant players they also have a good coach that understands the philosophy of the team and what the players can do. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lions win.

May the best team win.

As a neutral, I hope the Lions take it. Lions were a great union and have achieved very little lately, so it would be nice to see them take home the Silverware. 
Should be a cracker of a game though.

Jerome its easy you fool......Rhodes is a flanker, not big enough for lock......why play a flank at lock when you have a class youngster like Kleyn coming through?

 

The WP pack is going to struggle against the Lions pack anyway, and you want to take away the bit of grunt they have in Kleyn?

 

How stupid? Anyone who wants to play a flank at lock clearly knows stuff all about the game......hop e that clarifies things for you?

I'd say on form, the Lions will win it......they play the game as it should be played and hopefully the occasion will not force them to change their winning formula.

You're Response is incorrect. It's like you saying Steven Luatua is a flanker he can't play lock. Its total nonsense!

Michael Rhodes is useful at flanker or lock. he's played lock before and performed well in that role, you can't deny it.

As for Jean Kleyn, the young player is not bad but is inexperienced I'd much rather prefer Rhodes at 4 and Notshe at 7. Notshe is top class and definitely shouldn't be wasted on the bench.
