My forexast as to what would happen this weekend in games was very precie and I mentioned the following in particular:-
WP
I actually forecasted a win by 18 points by the Stormersby 18 points and was perturbed by the fact that De Jongh was made captain. The team discipline was atrocious and WP picked up e yellow cards.
I also said I wonder how De Jongh manage to remain in the team ahead of Howard. Howard scored a great try = De Jongh did squat.
The Sharks
I said in advance that the Sharks at last this year will have a functioning backline - since the backline saboteur (Fransie) is gone to Japan. To see the Sharks backline perform, like they did yesterday was a pleasure - a complete change from the ruvvish dished up in the Super 15 series.
Zeilinga, Jordaan and Sithole had great games and it was especially Jordaan that was outstanding. The try he scored beating 5 Griquas defenders were outstanding and the way he created space for Sithole and timing his pass to him - created a run for Sitjole that lead to Zeilinga's try - a comprehensive backline effort.
It as clear that the Sharks backline won the game for them.
Du Toit struggled in the first two scrums - found his feet - and from their onwards was excellent in the remaining scrums. He was very active in other facets of the game as well.
Bulls
I said before hand that Van der Merwe - the Lions prop is going to play the fool with Werner Kruger - and he did. Matter of fact the Bulls props both suffered badly in the game.
