What a frustrating side to watch. That score line was unbelievably flattering to say the least.

Whoever is the attacking coach, needs to be sacked - how on earth do you expect to breach defences by having your backs just pass the ball down the line like an U13 backline. Its the easiest thing in the world to defend against and rediculously predictable.

Where are the decoy runners, or runners running lines, or players looping etc? Pretorious has an awful service on him and can see why he never made the Tahs starting line-up last year. He is a handy player who cant pass.

Another major issue is that the Cheetahs do not have a genuine 12, with Ebersohn, a 13, playing 12. They need someone at 12 to give them direction instead of just shifting the ball wide as a 13 usually does.

Goose needs to find his kicking radar, the achilles injury seems to have affected his kicking. Love the lads flat and pin point passing. Rhule looked good when he had ball in hand.

I was impressed with young de Jager at 4, he was great in the line-outs. Great to see Coenie turn it around this week at tighthead, it helps having a big man behind you. Labascagne at 7 looks a useful player.

But the Cheetahs lack self belief, direction in attack and they need to work on not losing the ball in counter ruck situations.

They were in that game with say 15 min to go. That charge down was a fluke as Goosen kicked it well and with plenty of time on the ball, but Retalick is a giraffe who timed his jump well and got up high to charge the ball down - it was a fluke.

The Chiefs were better by 10

Snapster I think the wee chiefies had about 21% of the possession in the first half. I agree that the backline tactics were  silly and hopefully they will remedy this.

The big problem was that the side  tired in the second half which always happens on the first match when travelling down under.

Goosen seems to have been effected  by the ankle injury and yes the charge down was a fluke and the subsequent  try a non try as the chifies knocked the ball forward as the nz commentators said. However nothing unexpected there of course.

It will be interesting to see if the Cheetahs can win a few on the road.

Once the packs intensity fell off the way was open for the chefies. However it was noteworthy how badly they were dominated before fatigue set in re the Cheethas.

Bean Brain it was like toying with yr little pussycats, stringing them along before it was in the bag and an unfortunate drowning at the end i'm sorry to say.  At least the not so mighty stormers now know the fate that awaits them next week...
