as of course did that astute rugby brain Beeno!Ex Supersport

An angry Wallabies coach Michael Cheika pointed the finger at referee Romain Poite after losing to the All Blacks 29-9 in Wellington on Saturday, questioning the French whistleblower's attitude to his players.

The loss, following the heavy 42-8 defeat the previous week, saw the All Blacks claim the Bledisloe Cup for the 14th straight year.

While Cheika admitted the All Blacks played well, he believed his side were hurt by a high penalty count and pointed the finger at the referee Poite.

"I was bitterly disappointed, to be honest," Cheika said, questioning whether referees had a "pre-determined position" about the Australians.

The Wallabies have now lost six tests in a row, three of them against New Zealand and statistics in their latest encounter show they were beaten across the board.

But rather than focus on the areas where the Australians need to improve, Cheika took out his frustrations on the referee.

He said he had already raised with world referees boss Alain Rolland his concerns about both Poite and Welshman Nigel Owens from previous Wallabies matches they had controlled.

"I'm not sure why. But there was a time there in the game, in a break in play (against the All Blacks), when the national captain of Australia is asking the referee 'when might be an opportunity for me to talk to you' and he absolutely ignored him," Cheika said.

"He's got the whistle, I understand, but there's a place where the captain has an opportunity to speak to the referee.

"The referee may not like the captain personally, that might be his prerogative, but he has to afford him that opportunity he's afforded his opponents."

Cheika also believed Poite should have stopped the game when Wallabies forward David Pocock was being called off the field by an assistant referee for a head injury assessment.

"I don't know if it's subconscious or not but it's there and it's got to be dealt with because that can't be going on," Cheika said.

"Is it a pre-determined position on our players? I asked Alain Rolland. I saw him last week in Sydney, and he said 'no, it's a surprise if it is'."

"It's pretty blatant to anyone listening" to the referee's comments during the game.

Cheika said he could not understand why Wallaby Adam Coleman was sent to the sin bin for a late tackle when he saw similar infringements by the All Blacks which went unpunished.

However, he believed officials would pick up on an incident in which he believed Wallaby forward Kane Douglas was eye-gouged.

"They can't miss it. It was pretty out in the open."

Poor Pocock had his hands on the ball and was taken out by a side entrance clean out. Welcome to the Club Mr Cheika.

Substitute Spring boks for the Wallabies and Beanhead for Cheika and ANC for referee and one has a feeling old Beeno might be Cheika

Wobblies are not playing well right now. What happened to Poco@k? He was fantastic when he came back from double knee surgery & now he has disappeared. Wobblies had nothing to offer but "niggle" & it was a desperate strategy that didn't compensate for poor play.
Chei ka needs to put some attention on improving the Wobblies not complaining. In this game the Wobblies had a 72% tackle success rate. They only gained 187 meters &  only had 2 line breaks & only a 67% line success rate. Those stats should tell him something.

Cheika is useless as coach,...... and a f*cking clown,..... as the article says:

"statistics in their latest encounter show they (aussies) were beaten across the board.

But rather than focus on the areas where the Australians need to improve, Cheika took out his frustrations on the referee."

Cheika is completely unable to adress the many deficiencies the wallies have,..... the main one, sticking to play with Hooper-Pocock, two opensides,...... didn't work against England, doesn't work agaist the AB,....... and reduces the line-out options making easier for the defense,..... he also should select correctly the 10-12 and wings,....... should choose a decent captain,......

Moore is the worst captain in rugby history,...... I said it from his first test last year,.....  from the first minute he's complaining about everything the ref whistle against them,...... everything,..... for the first half hour the ref, every ref, is already sick of his continous groaning,...... it happens with every ref so it's not Poite's fault is Moore's

as JW said, "Wobblies had nothing to offer but "niggle",...... they improved their defense and attitude but that's all,...... they were worked up,..... hence the penalties and the yellow,...... by the way, a blatant yellow,......... shoulder charge and late,..... 2 hours late!,..... how can this clown complain about that yellow?

He has a point about the eye gauging and some crucial calls went against his team. Coles got off light for his stiff arm, but all of that is moot. There was only one team on the park. Good match by the AB's, bit the Wallies were much better than last week. Not close and no cigars, but a way better effort.

I didn't see any possible eye gauging,...... around which minute it was?

Moore is over rated. Hooper too.. Pocock no longer the force he once was. Cooper and genia are not what is needed. Cooper is a spent force. Its time for new blood.

Saw the eye gouging it was in a rolling maul situation with the Wobbly oak standing tall and the wee ab doing the gouging. As Cheika said it was all in the open.

From memory the alleged eye gouging w as around the 7 min mark. It's hard to believe that Franks would be so stupid to do this at all let alone in full view of the ref and everyone.

"Cheika is useless as coach,...... and a f*cking clown"
Couldn't agree more . . . but he's also a boorish and foul-mouthed low-life.
Just about every time the camera ever goes to Cheika, you don't have tp be a lip-reader to know he's saying "f#ck you" or "f#ck off" in response to every decision the ref makes . . . and before anyone has a little whine about Poitre, Cheika behaves like this whoever the ref is.
A thoroughly unlikeable person. He has the rugby knowledge of Dense, the bias of Baboon-ou and the class of Moffie.
Cheika harassing a ref in the half time break last year didnt exactly endear him with anyone.A boorish one trick pony who thinks repeating the same thing with Podork and that midget bloke will work despite the ABs negating it in the 2nd Bledisloe last year .And refs are only human so having Moore disputing every call ad nauseum is just stupid and annoying ,a good cap asks politely for clarification  which is enough to make any point he is seeking then moves on .If Franks gouged anyone the he should be punished .If guilty he shouldnt get away with it unlike the absolutely blatant and deliberate raking of Moore when Jannie Du Plessis walked up to and behind Moore and reached around gouged him.Or like that French arsehole that gouged Maccaw in the 2011 final.
