The Chiefs have named their matchday squad that will host Wales, for the first time, in a one-off match in Hamilton on Tuesday.

It will also be the first time 22-year-old loose forward Mitchell Brown will pull on the Chiefs jersey, starting at blindside flanker in his debut game alongside five of his Taranaki teammates.

With eight of the Chiefs unavailable due to All Blacks commitments, remaining players have the opportunity to impress and push their case for selection as the business end of the Super Rugby season draws near.

In the forwards, Mitchell Graham, Rhys Marshall and Hiroshi Yamashita will pack down in the front row. Experienced locks Dominic Bird and Michael Allardice partner in the second row, with Brown, Lachlan Boshier and Tom Sanders forming the loose forward trio.

Scrum-half Brad Weber will partner with captain and veteran Stephen Donald getting his first start in 2016 at fly-half.

The experience of Andrew Horrell will be put to good use in the mid-field alongside Anton Lienert-Brown who will slot in at outside centre. The back trio consists of Sam Vaka and Toni Pulu on the wings, with James Lowe adding an exciting edge at full-back.

Chiefs: 15 James Lowe, 14 Toni Pulu, 13 Anton Lienert-Brown, 12 Andrew Horrell, 11 Sam Vaka, 10 Stephen Donald (c), 9 Brad Weber, 8 Tom Sanders, 7 Lachlan Boshier, 6 Mitchell Brown, 5 Michael Allardice, 4 Dominic Bird, 3 Hiroshi Yamashita, 2 Rhys Marshall, 1 Mitchell Graham
Replacements: 16 Hika Elliot, 17 Siegfried Fisi’ihoi, 18 Atu Moli, 19 Taleni Seu, 20 Tevita Koloamatangi, 21 Kayne Hammington, 22 Sam McNicol, 23 Latu Vaeno

Date: Tuesday, June 14
Venue: FMG Stadium, Hamilton
Kick-off: 18:35 local (08:35 GMT)

Not a bad line up for the Chiefs, especially when you consider 8 Chiefs' players are unavailable because they are with the ABs.
Go Chiefs!!

I'm at the game tonight lads! The bloke with the unpronouncea ble name is from Japan and he's actually played a few games for my club Hamilton Marist. Handy club prop but Rennie hasn't given him much time in a Chiefs' jumper.Go the Mighty Chiefs!!!

Its a pity that this always happens - sides being weakened by national call ups.Nevertheless I have little sympathy for the pap wee chiefies and trust the W elsh scrum will own them.

Just got home from the game after a few Waikato Greens in the Harlequins Bar pre, during and post match....Awesome game from Chiefs B against Wales B. Wales had heaps of possession and starved the Chiefs of a lot of ball throughout the game. Difference was when the Chiefs backs got their hands on it they carved the Welsh up!Beaver had an outstanding game before being subbed with 10 to go after cramping up badly. He set up 2 tries and had one of his own disallowed. I think he also had a 100% kicking record but will check on the replay. 2011 all over again for the mighty Beaver!! No disputing any of his kicks tonight, unlike in the 2011 RWC Final when certain members on this site put forward a conspiracy theory over THAT kick which won it for the ABs...

Thanks for the report Moolaa, sounds like the crowd went wild & with 18,000 chanting Beaver it must have been a great moment for Donald. He deserves it and what a way to honor him! A game he and his team mates will never forget. I hope I can access this game on the internet so see it later.

Brother say it isnt so ,not the dreaded "green Death " I was born and bred by the Mighty Waikato and its muddy waters still run in me veins .But Waikato Green ? Arrrgghhh mon !The Beaver long ago found his redemption ,personally I thought that game against the Wobblies didnt deserve him pariah status from some .Gee wonder which egg boy had omelette on its wee face with its stupid conspiracy theory eh ?Sounds like you had a grand time ,Coopers Ale or Draught now theres yer beer !We used to drink in the Army what I suppose they call a 'boutique beer " these days .It was called dog-bolter came only in kegs and was 28 % proof if memory serves .Unfortunately memory is the first to go drinking dog-bolter but far out it was like drinking jugs of bourbon !Banned a while back I hear ...

"Green" is a good drop now Wardad! Hated it when I was younger after being weaned on DB Draught,  but nowadays it's a popular ale, particularly amongst us "younger" folk....Anyway, "Bring Back Beaver" must be the call after tonight's display!!
