Actually, the Brumbies deserved the win more. They created more and were the more accurate side. The Chiefs I see are using SBW more to attack the gainline. However, he wasn't very successful inside, only on two forages out wide. The Chief's inability to make headway inside meant they were frantically trying to play a wide game without much incision. The Brumbies defence was test class; reminded me very much of the Bok win over New Zealand last year, only better! The Chiefs don't look as fit, they are very much reliant on a few tricks and gimmicks that are already being overused and their defence is vulnerable. The Brumbies maul utterly savaged them, and South African sides will take note of that. The Chiefs lacked the tools to attack the Brumbie' only real vulnerability; solidity under the high ball. That said, it will get better. Every aspect of this Brumbies side is getting better every week. This was anything but a glorified win for the Chiefs, more like a reality check.

The Chiefs looked spooked; they couldn't even look their opponents in the eyes at scrum time. Towards the end of the game they looked lost. Very much got lucky.

Don't kid yourself sitting bull, that was an ordinary performance by your team against a no name brand. Keep talking up the Chiefs and moloo magic whatever that is, your team with all it's stars failed to impress. I predicted they'd blow the Brumbies off the park so I'm glad to say even I have egg on my face.

I can see an end to you chest-beating the Mighty Chiefs....truth be told an ordinary no brand team stripped the Might out of the Chiefs. And you can count yourself lucky to win with a dubious stadium clock working in your teams favour.

Rennie however didn’t have much positive to say about the 29-22 win.
He told the Sunday Star-Times that at times his troops were their own worst enemies, not only making fundamental mistakes, but straying from the original plan.
"It was a frustrating night, to be honest," Rennie said.
"The areas we talked about attacking them in we just didn't do it until the last few minutes.
"We talked about going through the middle and round the edges from the start because they spread across the park defensively and they're pretty thin around there. But we tried to play the sidelines, lost a lot of ball and couldn't apply the pressure."

The Brumbies defence manfully contained them inside and outwide. A test class defensive display. They also showed much endeavour with piercing backline bursts. A well rounded performance; had they taken thoe tries in the first half they would have won this.
