Could it get worse for Aussie rugby?
Can read it here. Then scroll down and read "Super format on the nose" - hope on the horizon?

"THE current 18-team format of Super Rugby is unpopular among most cash-strapped Australian franchises, and Kiwi teams are poised to royally blow up when their sides have to travel back and forth to South Africa for finals despite being higher on points than almost everybody.

But it turns out South African opposition to the new Super Rugby structure is driving the push for it to be scrapped and replaced with something — anything — else in 2018."
And that comes as a surprise? Weren't most of us saying it's a sh!t format all along? I'd like to know who the idiots were who dreamt up this format while going "yeah, this is gonna knock it out of the park".

Certainly wasnt a Kiwi who dreamed up this steaming pile ......probably redsmong and beeddork ! Yup it was those guys .And the Chiefs are just trying to save some up and coming youngsters from the shame of having to wear cowardly custard yellow ,instead they can have our always stylish Black !

Apparently there wus only 3500 spectators at the last Kings home game ......... even their homeys aren't interested, & in hindsight I've yet to hear of anyone, anywhere, who approved of their inclusion (with the exception of the honorable F okilili Mbabalubab, of course) .

With 45 plus players this year exiting Superugby for greener ($$$$$) pastures abroad we will have barely sufficient talent for four teams, let alone the current six .

...great lesson there also for the next Tongan Thor contemplating playing for the dopey wombats over a NZ franchise...play for Oz at your peril son..

Chiefs 50 - Reds 5...no wonder the Aussies are whinging

"Thor"? I heard tell of another "mighty Thor" who played for the Boks once, some even compared him to McCaw

Can he still lift his wee hammer?
PS: how did that wee bloke in the turban get past Beeno's wall?

I agree, he's a quality player who must be carrying some injuries.

The current format was designed by the kbbs to avoid playing the physical SA sides!  The pap kbbs don't like in your face rugby. Its netballing rugby for them!!! Bwahahhahahahahahahahahahaha
The halfwit warped DUD still doesnt recognise Fiji, Tonga and Samoa as separate nations states to nz. Hence poor warped DUD thinks nz has every right to take their players. After all nz is also located in the Pacific. Hahahahahahahahahaha ou warped DUD is a laugh a minute.

Redsman, condolences about NSW kicking yr butt in the SOO final mate... no wonder yr coming on here bawling yr eyes out ..

...might be clutching at straws on a Rugby forum to bring up no name surfers though mate...we all know the average Aussie bogan spends all day at the beach surfing and getting completely sh!tfaced while us Kiwis are doing an honest days work,..must say it's a great pity how yr leaving yr used needles littered all over the beaches everywhere all the same..

..follows that yr swimmers will do well at the Olympics as well.. even if they're all queers like Thorpedo..

"Thor" Pedo perhaps Brycy?Trust Pedsman to bring up a minor activity like surfing; surely goes down as one of the most boring things to watch on TV. Climb on a wave and ride it for 30 seconds...Wahoo, how exciting is that to watch?Did you beat us at marbles as well Pedsman?

Wow, how many insults can be in on post. New record surely. So wait a second. South Africa, who benefit from the new format, are complaining that it needs to be changed. Must say, I'm a bit proud of us. I get the feeling that we'd be told to suck it up if we were on the receiving end. Still, good job, whoever it was that argued against it. The good of the many over ignorant patriotic views always wins my vote.

It will take a long time for other countries to catch-up to the New Zealanders.  They "live" rugby.  There is no political interference, the young ones and the seniors follow a synergistic pattern in training and development.  South Africa is for all intent and purpose totally fu(t.  There is no common coaching standard and players are "pushed" into positions and teams simply because of a political agenda.
Super rugby has become a money spinner for the TV people and advertisers.  There is simply too much rugby.
