and sure enough Chiefs prop Karl Tu'inukuafe is to join the AB squad replacing Tim Perry

Another product of Wesley College , a school that in the past has produced the likes of Jonah Lomu. Charles Piutau, Fekitoa, Pulu, Laulala, Beaver...more recent ABs than any other school in the country..

...and to think he did'nt even have a SR contract at the beginning of the season..

...Tu'inukuafe weighed 170kg a few years back. He had stopped playing rugby after starting a family and looking for a job...but was told by his doctor in no uncertain terms to get exercising or run the risk of being plagued by his health problems...that's all Tu'inukuafe needed to hear to strap his boots back on...

Th discussion was about that Chiefs prop and the fact is that the scrumming was illegal allowed by the NZ ref.   He must have received a tongue-lasing because the next week he suddenly discovered how to ref scrums and the player concerned was suddenly not successful anymore.

Playing rugby in Hong Kong is indeed a problem - but I am not going into that one,

Contrast that to the top New Zealand and Australian sides — Crusaders (223)‚ Hurricanes (213)‚ Chiefs (242)‚ Highlanders (289)‚ Waratahs (274) and Brumbies (296) — and it is clear the South African teams are way behind defensively...

At the same stage in 2017‚ the Lions had only conceded 251 points and the Sharks 266. But both teams had not played New Zealand opposition because of the tournament structure.

N obody ever said defense was not a problem - that definitely is the case.   When it comes t missed tackles it normally looks poor when the opposition is carrying the balls more frequently and issed tackles occur more frequently as a result.   

I do not think that was necessarily the reason for the Stormers loss against the highlkanders - because despite major ball possession the Chiefs scored a try through the bounce of a kicked ball.   The other try was scored as a result of te stormers scrum collapse near the line - ie a penalty try.

I am also very worried by the high number of missed tackles and has said that repeatedly on this site,   The latest example is the Jaguares - Bulls match where the Bulls in total made 22 tackles and missed 17 - totally unacceptable.     

Yes ... and of course we can expect a full run down of just how well De Allende did in the match against the Japanese.

Wow ... hasn't that international star at 12 done his bit to secure a good season for the Stormers. You know ... he cleaned both Sonny Bill Williams and Ma'a Nonu up the last they met.
