Well done Bean Brain for winning yr first game after languishing at the bottom of the table. Unlike you i'm not gunna make any excuses about all the jetlag, our injured players or some mong whistle happy yarpy ref with blue underpants. The Mighty Chiefs like the great team they are still managed to retain there place up the top of the table regardless so no great loss.

Pretty happy with our boys who outscored the stormers four tries to three so early in the season when they are usually still curled up fast asleep at this time of the morning.

Still a massive effort required by yr stormers to climb up the ladder and be anywhere near the Mighty Chiefs level of supreme excellence but winning yr home games is a good start so well done mate...

Brycy thanks mate but my legendary honesty forces me to say the score flattered the wee chiefies. Thankfully there was no Etzebeth or Schalk and Tiaan only for a period in the second half. You have to admit there is no ways you guys could beat a Stormers match 22 at full strength.

I also note that we left a number of tries on the park. Nevertheless the Mighty Stormers looked dangerous ball in hand. So much so that the wee chiefies continually infringed in a desparate attempt to slow the Stormers ball down. The reasons are obvious.

As so often happens the Sa ref bent over backwards to give the nz side a fair deal.

Justin marshall however commented how the Cheetahs got a number of wrong calls as per sual! Bwahahahahahaha

Only injuries and bent refs could possibly stop us ascending the ladder.

Condolences to Sitting bull of course!

Bean Brain i'm sure sitting bull is none the wiser without a television set as to how lucky the rain puddle team was to win. Must have been quite a relief to hear that final whistle blown though with the whole stadium kakking their daks for the last 10 mins of the game and i'm sure yr all thankful that Cruden decided to run the ball at the end instead of opt for the winning drop goal.

Funny how you say the SA ref was bent - yr words not mine but to be expected given yr country's rugby history i guess...

Still hard to imagine you guys making the final though sitting in10th position on the log. How is that going to work?

Brycy

I some players make the same mistakes continuously they should be carded.   In any event I think Peyper was really very patient with the Chiefs -  he is one SA referee woth a serious dislike of the Stormers and in fact gave the Chiefs some really doubtful penalties.

In essence I do not think thus far the New Zealand teas were up to standard.   If despite the effect of jet lag the Bulls beat the Blues tomorrowI suppose there will be a week of maoaning in New Zealand,

I must give the Chiefs credit for one thing - they do have an excellent team and they did try their best to win - but on the day they were beaten by a better team.   I think - and I said so previously as well - that they do need better forwards than they have - the best of the forwards today was Cane - the rest was not up to standard.  Their forwards let them down badlly - their backs were very very good.

Man the chiefies never stopped infringing. To put it bluntly they were cheating. If it was a nz ref they would have got away with it. No wonder brycy is up in arms he is not used to us getting a fair deal. Bwahahahahahahaha

As for sitting bull next time the chiefies beat a SA side his TV will be working just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have these kiwis all sussed out.

not so clevermike pity no one in NZ was awake to see the game as the stormers managed to defy popular belief and actually score some tries. We were getting worried about yr inability in that dept to be honest.

But not everyone will be disappointed if the Bulls win i'm sure as it's not the franchise everyone supports and alot of people, NZers included waiting for them to trip up. The Mighty Chiefs will deal to them in no uncertain terms come round 7 no doubt...

Just as not every Saffa will be hoping for a Bulls win so their team advances from the bottom of the table as the stormers so desperately need to...

Good too see jaco calling the kiwis for continually cheating... Maybe this year international refs will start pinging the kiwis for all the cheating they've been doing for years. Taking out defenders around the ruck is a favourite cheating tactic of the kiwis. Anyway I believe it was redsman that called stormers needing to score tries and that aplon is your best attacking weapon. Well done stormers very entertaining game...

Bricy why does your congratulating seem more like dissembling? No matter both teams played well.

The Stormers were stronger in most aspects of the game, but the Chiefs found space out wide. More importantly they studied the Stormers defence enough to spot opportunities for short grubbers behind the defensive line....leading to 2 tries. Some good thinking there.

It was a close game....Kolisi botched one try scoring chance and was the weak defensive link in the last Chiefs try. Jantjies was a little more assured today and threw a few nice passes, including the one that sprung Aplon. Other than that the defences ruled.

a win is a win, so congrads Stormers and Beeno!

Although the Chiefs would have doubled their score had all your geriatric players been on the park!
