Cape Town - Sharks hooker Chiliboy Ralepellehas reportedly tested positive for a banned substance.

According to Netwerk24, Ralepelle allegedly tested positive in January when a random drug test was executed by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) at Kings Park.

This isn't the first time Ralepelle has been tested positive.

In 2015 he was banned for two years for an anabolic steroid.

It dated back to an out-of-competition doping control test taken the year before when he was recovering from an operation on an anterior cruciate ligament following a knee injury in France.

In 2010, Ralepelle and fellow Springbok Bjorn Basson also tested positive for methylhexanamine, but were found to not be at fault as the substance was apparently contained in Springbok-approved supplements.

The 32-year-old, who has 25 Tests to his name, has not played for the Sharks this Super Rugby season thus far.

Meanwhile, this weekend sees the Sharks take on the Bulls in their SA derby at Loftus Versfeld.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 17:15.

They probably caught him out and left him out of the team on that account.  What an idiot!!!

He was the Anointed One from PBH...he was supposed to take over the reigns from John Smith...well not exactly, but something like that.

He two good years. In fact, in 2011, he was outplaying Bissie. Outside of thoes two years, nothing much. It took him a long time to repay the faith shown to him. In 2005 he was anointed Smit's future successor, as captain. Considering some of the hype, he was definitely overrated. Lacked longevity. Sad that he marred his career with doping, even worse as a repeat offender.

He's never been off the juice.

No ... that's not true, Doos.

There wasn't anyone on the planet that out played Bismarck.

He reigned supreme across the globe.

It's just another one of your Mohoje / McCaw thumbsucks. You're good at those. To think you refer to yourself as the "eyeopener" ... lol!!!

Chiliboy has always been a quota ... even his steroids couldn't help him with merit selections

He's just another useless black man that was assigned a task beyond his capabilities. We have many, many, many of those in this country. Our current captain is one.

So the finding of the 2nd tests have been delivered, and he is guilty as accused. It appears to be a steroid that the used by Vets.

How did he get his hands on this stuff? Perhaps robbed the local pet clinic on a steroid binge.

There are many crooked doctors that would give him a prescription for that based on their normal anti-White attitude.   Or  they can steal it from the racing stables who in the past have used steroids to  inject horses - he seems to take horses injections.

It's a puzzle to work out how SA rugby board ever came to the conclusion he was leadership material when he cannot control himself, let alone inspire team mates. Just shows how flawed and clueless they are in their assessment of character and ability.

No loss to the Sharks, bad selection and in fact a bad egg...good riddance.
