CJ gives Kitshoff a scrumming lesson

According to Dave and the OOM Kitshoff should have been scrumming for the Boks for at least a year. This quote from Coetzee explains why not. Old dogs like CJ, much maligned by Dave and the OOM, still have a technical edge.

I think by next year Kitshoff may be ready for test rugby and 3 years from now he is going to be a tremendous prop.

Still onto the CJ story - was last year not enough?   CJ was scrumming inwards most of the time and even got penalized for that.    Your comments are on par with what you said about Malherbe in respect of one scrum last week -  Why not look at the match as a whole.   In any event CJ had to be subbed after 20 minutes - so how many scrums did he give Kitshoff a scrumming lesson in?

Calm do wn - the rugby geriatrics will not get you anywhere. 

It's not an old CJ story it's a new one, which anybody with eyes to see could appreciate. Last week the same was true when Malherbe came on....I pointed out some ironies about this in my piece on the match. But Mike when the WP coach says the Lions had the upper hand when CJ was on the field, thats completely dispositive.

I am yet to watch that game, the chances of CJ out scrumming Kitshoff are about a big fat zero.......but I'll report back.

For the record, I watched Steenkamp live on Friday night and for the first time he looked like the old Guthro.......but saying that he is not worthy of a Bok spot ahead of Kitshoff.......no way in hell

What about the penalty against CJ for illegal scrumming?   Not about " .....as many as they had, is the answer to that".

I thought CJ was the number 1 prop and so was Kitshoff.  So CJ was up against Cilliers.  Cilliers was Mozart's hero last week - when he made a determined effort to discredit Malherbe by saying  Cilliers did very well and the scrumming deteriorated when Malherbe came on.   Cilliers was the poor link in the Stormers scrum this past Saturday.

You should know Mozart by now - his reading of games are skewed and he will always try and discredit younger players - especially those he does not like and who pose a threat to his favourites playing for the Springboks.

First of all the coach referred to the scrumming - not to any player.  Secondly he said the following:-

That does not warrant the underhand way you tried to discredit Kitshoff - now does it.  Also in one scrum CJ was penalised for illegal scrumming and he should have been afterwards penalised again for scrumming inward.  Guess CJ was trying to coach the WP props how to scrum illegally and sometimes get away with it.

You are comparing NOTHING - because you are not comparing apples with apples.  You may find the opposition tight head is not a good scrummager - and the loose head is  - so why is the loose head giving the other loose head a scrumming lesson.

Sometimes your efforts to discredit players are pathetic and that is a fact.   

Ah so on the strength of one scrum, a scrum I have not seen yet, CJ would merit test selection ahead of Kitshoff who has been huge all year........sounds about right Moz!!

You do come up with some pearls at times!!
