Classic conditions for Bok rugby....the Sharks mistakenly kept the ball alive.

i watched the second half and highlights only ....so this is a partial view. But it was soooooo inept. The Canes were incredibly accurate, purposeful and energetic, the Sharks only chance was to slow the game down......but without ball handling skills after a phase or two they would send aimless kicks down the Canes' throats. It was a day for long kicks to the corners or touch, dominating the set pieces and tackling like demons.
None of which the Sharks did.....they were simply clueless.

 Mozart, you might want to edit you post, the sharks played to Canes not the Saders.

 Yeah, I just noticed.

 Dr Moz a couple of points firstly please say the non classical old Bok rugby rather than true balanced Bok rugby.However the Sharks clearly are still missing Jake hugely.  

 South African rugby gleefully ditched JW, especially the Sharks and fans like RooiAAS....I hope they like the world they created.

 We haven't heard from Rooi for some time now, at least as far as I can remember. The number of posters seems to be much reduced they days. Even Beeno is not posting down in the Trum@pet section. 
Supporters need to believe their team has a shot at winning to stay interested. It's not good for rugby to have on nation so dominant, personally I like it but I see the cost also.
PS, even CleverMike is scarce.

We seem to have lost Dave, the AAS and Tokkie...I guess you can only be proven wrong so many times before you lose interest.

 

There is one thing we did retain on the site – and that sis the fool who claimed that 90% of the function of a flyhalf  is to kick away balls aimlessly.

What the Stormers and the Sharks  did yesterday as to play two totally inept flyhalfs who failed miserably to perform even the most rudimentary functions of flyhalfs .   That was only the start of what can be called the problems of the two teams. 

What was produced yesterday by the two teams yesterday was a poor reflection of th level most teams in  SA  came to.    If there was in fact any game plan involved I missed out on it completely.   No game plan coupled to putrid defense was no doubt the cause of the problems.    No team can afford to kick the ball away aimlessly and then expect to defend against counter-attacks.

Then Mozar t has to rake up the epitome of  kicking away balls – Jake White.  With his styleof rugby White would  have ensured the Lions lost their game against he Crusaders as well – bearing i n mind the 2014 debacle of the Crusader – Sharks play-off game in 2014.        

   

 Wake up Tokkie.....the Lions have succeeded on a different path. To expect the Sharks of yesterday to suddenly play Lions rugby and win in NZ....against the Canes, in the rain, having travelled days before.....is sheer stupidity, sheer Tokkie think.

 Mozart - problem is I am awake - not living in the past like you do.   That is why I said the teams must start using the Lions approach - which you fought bitterly in the past.

Simply because what we saw out there on Saturday wasn't a team. It was a collection of players based on nothing. There is no core to the team. The only way in this short time. To build a team is to base it to some extent on one of our franchises. We have often done this with the Bools....only the Lions fit the bill right now.

Secondly if we don't try these players now, when do we try them? Normally I'm for winning matches, but we don't want another 4 years with team controversies....throw them in the water, let's see who swims. Given our poor Super performance there will be more time for the team to gel before the RC if some of these changes have to be reversed.
Thirdly it will rev up Ellis Park and what better venue to debut for Lions players. Let's go for broke, if we lose the series....so what? We are in transition and experimenting. So play this team:

And if it all flops we can put our best shot for the RC in for next week, but at least the air will have been cleared. And there is just a chance this may work.

......As opposed to the fool who believes that subbing the lock behind the tight head prop improves the scrumming of the loose head prop....
