Oaks leave the long term planning to Rassie. Rassie understands what is needed to do well at the RWC and is trying to give the Boks the best possible chance.

We saw an improvement is the Bok side last year and barring injuries one can reasonably expect the squads upward trend to continue. Yes there is a risk of some loses going this route but there are enough upsides to warrant the plan of action.
So I ask all the Rassie doubters not to get ahead of themselves with their doomsday predictions, try to see the bigger picture regarding squad development and the RWC and acknowledge that the best brain in SA Rugby is at work and consequently many here will be unable to follow or keep up with Rassie.

His wins in 2013 were supposedly moral losses. The tries scored not real tries, because Morné was part of the team. The thing with Rassie that I find so funny is that he embodies everything you hate about rugby. The Bok game under Rassie forms a jarring contrast to that of the rest of the world. A near carbon copy of the Stormer's stale and limited game. The amount of aimless kicking is off the chart and at all levels of the field. Jake would have probably won the RC last year. With such an upswing in personnel, he would have certainly bettered Rassie. Meyer did more with less. In fact, Coetzee's Boks would have done better in 2018 too; as we saw, the Boks were trending further up in the middle of 2017. Even New Zealanders acknowledge that. * no congratulation to the team on that achievement; and
* a string of stats praising a non-existent game plan of Meyer in 2015 as better than the performance of the 2019 team = leaving out the most important factor - the scoring of tries;
