I have touched on this in another post, but I just want to drive my point home. Mike, do you even support the Springboks? No matter what the result and no matter how we play, you always have basically the same negative response. As I mentioned before, we have lost two games in the last year...TWO! And both against a VERY strong All Black side (And one of the two MAY have been as a result of a crap ref). Are things really that bad? There are plenty of positives, we were in with a shout of winning the Rugby Champs until 25 mins into the last game of the competition, we won all the June internationals and all the games at the EOY tour last year. We have just beaten a Lions laden Welsh team etc etc. Meyer is NOT a complete idiot, and he is getting the results. Are some of his choices questionable, of course they are, but no coach in history has ever picked a team that kept every supporter happy. Saffex, also suffers a little from your negative syndrome, but at least he was able to give credit where due after the Wales game. 

Mike, as I have mentioned, I can appreciate how thoroughly you review games, but it seems everything you see you try to spin in a negative light, even when there are plenty of moves in the right direction being made by Meyer. 

Long story short, the Boks are doing well, even though you predict a loss almost every game. Enjoy the progress that has been made.

I a Springbok supporter - but gets pessimistic about too many funny selections by Meyer,   Morne Steyn is one of those - he failed miserably last year and in key games like the Ellis Park test and the Bulls-Brumbies semi-final.   There is every chance that he would foul up  in tets he played in.   I have no trust that the robotic Steyn would ever really be the pivot that would help the Springboks to ever reach the number 1 ranking while he is in the team.

I also forecasted that Fourie and JP would not make the grade - since they are bound to fail because of them getting used to the level of rugby they play in Japan - with accompanying lack of fitness being the main problem and they were indeed two of the weakest links in the team on Saturday.

Those type of selections make me doubt the ability of the team as a whole - since the team becomes too dependent on brilliant performances by some of the  real star players in the rest of the team.   If they do have an even satisfactory day at the office - the team is likely to struggle or lose against stronger opposition.   Despite my negative sentiments about some players I normally post scores favouring the Springboks on Superbru
