This clueless clown is so far out of touch that it defies all forms of comprehension. So he has concluded that the Toulon model is the way forward, ignoring the fact that it’s the Southern Hemisphere that dominate the world game and that Toulon are made up of a bunch of washed up SA ns’, Ozzies and Kiwi’s that managed to beat Sarries in the Heineken Cup final who also happen to be made up of a bunch of washed up SA ns’.

The fool tells us that these players have gone on to become stars up North, some players having left SA not making the grade. Hellooooooo, there is a reason for this, they are playing in inferior competitions against inferior opposition because Northern Hemisphere rugby lags behind the South.

This same clown has chosen to invest it in a bunch of geriatrics, the same geriatrics who in their prime failed to get the better of their Kiwi counterparts, but somehow now in their 30’s will turn the tables and start producing the goods and challenge the present day Kiwi’s and Aussies who’s sides are selected by coaches who are in tune with the winning way.

The sooner we see the back of this clueless idiot, the better. Conservatism does not begin to scratch the surface. Hell I don’t think even de Villiers or Rudolph ever sunk us to this level of selection. What this clown is effectively saying is that he has no faith in our youth and that the way forward is with the past – PATHETIC

Oz and NZ must be secretly smiling

Well that's a bit rude really.

And there was me thinking this topic was a bit of gossip about your Coach and some bimbo

Ah well, just turned out to be a bit of a slagging off about the North being useless again. The more things change and all that.......

Did you see the word useless used, other than to refer to the coach. Southern H rugby is better than Northern H rugby - that is a FACT......therefore one would expect our coach to base his model on a Southern H side......but this idiot cant seem to spot the obvious

I used the word useless as my interpretation of what you were saying, it wasn't a direct quote. If it had been, I would have used quotation marks.

It isn't better, it is different. And you know what ? Without us you would have no precious Rugby in the first place !

The Toulon model works with a massive Squad of players that rotate and a 10/12 axis that works really well together. Wilkinson and Giteau played off each other and taught each other a lot, it seems. But most of the Toulon games were very poor and very dull affairs, like most French Top 14 Rugby. Toulon also cheat and get away with it very well these days !!

No, I think he's making a mistake, but what do I know ?

Becs, we are descendants from forefathers in England as much as you are.
One of us on this board could be the direct descendant of the inventor of rugby.
So it is no consolidation playing second fiddle to Southern Hemisphere, or being useless as Saffex so eloquently puts it, or being idiots etc, etc

Geez the squad selection was bad enough but there was always the hope that there was enough of the young talent for Meyer to draw on but no.......his team for Saturday is disgusting.

I had high expectations when it came to Meyer, I started loosing faith with his EOYT selections......he has now managed to surpass this.......I no longer have faith at all.

Get rid of him now I say and give the job to a progressive with the times man.......whoever that may be........hell I'd be more than happy to see the return of Jake........never thought I would ever say that.

How on earth are we meant to get excited about supporting this pathetic Bok side.......Meyer is an ignorant twat and has really pissed me off. Geez , he must be stupid

Saffex I think Meyer is being very short sighted. He should be building for the future and in paricular the world cup. This se lection is excessively conservative.

Meyer is an oxygen thief who pretends he knows something about coaching.   That team for Saturday exceeded my worst expectations of what he would do by the proverbial mile.
It is an absolute vote of no confidence in Southern Hemisphere Rugby played by SA players and is disgusting in the extreme.   I do not think it will be worth while watching this concoction he calls a team playing on Saturday.
No wonder they are struggling to sell seats for the Saturday game - after this selection I doubt whether people would bother to turn up.

The team is the worst I have seen since the days of Koen and Braam v/Straaten taking up the 10 and 12 positions.

Joke is, some clowns will see the positives in this side - watch this space

Yeah ... he's very disappointing.

I guess it's another painful era awaiting us.

Toulon model bullshit. It's the Paris model. I always told you chaps the Bok team is the one that thrashed France last November. And it is....the pack is exactly the pack that finished the game. In the backs we have Pienaar and Hendricks come in for unavailable players.

It's the Paris model stupid.

You cannot have the Steyns at 10 and 12 without destroying the backline completely insofar as attacking rugby is concerned.   Poor   Willie would have a awful time with those two around.
Fact is that Francois Steyn in Super 15 this year was the only SA 12 who never made a single line break and never scored even 1 try.  This could possibly be the result of the knee problem which slowed him down considerably.  He would do something useful early in games - like happened in the Crusaders game - and then petered out completely later in the game.
I also think that the said problem accounts for his poor tackling record in Super 15 and the fact that players seems to at times run around him at will.
He was on all accounts the worst-performing inside center in Super 15 this year - his stats is comprehensive proof of that - so what could account for his selection only Meyer would know.  Serfontein was miles better than Steyn.
Morne was found out by Stade Francais as being useless as a flyhalf and rarely used and has played comparatively little rugby this year.
I frankly feel that with Meyer merit has nothing to do with selection - it is a case of jobs for pals.
