That interpretation doesn’t seem consistent with what one sees on the park. Most of the scrums against Wales and Scotland were pretty neutral for a few seconds and then just as the opposition thought they had weathered the storm a huge second shove sent them pealing backwards.
It’s trick the All Blacks have successfully used against us at scrum time in the past .

Most likely this is just disinformation. But if this is what the Poms really believe I’m afraid they are in for a rude awakening.
