Coenie Oosthuizen:
He gets worse at scrumming each match. His performance at loosehead for the Boks in the last test was the final admission by the Boks management team that he is not a tight head.
Coenie then delivered his worst ever scrumming performance at loose head in perhaps his last test a as a Springbok..
Unfortunately it seems that his neck injuries are getting the better of him. Not sure if is more physical or mental. His play outside of the scrum has also declined so this is not enough to persist with his poor scrumming.
He needs to consider a switch to hooker if it will be better for his neck. With Strauss gone the Cheetas will be needing a new hooker.
Siya Kolisi- totally out of form. Although his work rate has never been great and it is debatable if he should have ever got a Bok cap in the first place. No longer even a starting player at SuperX level. What he does in the match is good, it is just he does not do much.
Johan Goosen - Like Coenie it seems that injury has gotten the better of him. He still has the potential to be a Springbok great. He just needs to play without getting injured to build his confidence in contact. Perhaps as he gets older he will get stronger and be more durable.
He has become a link player to avoid contact. He rarely takes the ball at full speed hitting the advantage line like in 2012. His cameo at fullback for the Cheetas showed how good he is on attack in space. He has the speed and running skill of a wing/fullback and the passing skills of a scrumhalf. He just lacks the physical ability to run the ball from the flyhalf channel.
JJ Engelbrecht was allways a wing playing out of position. A contracted Springbok player that is not even in the squad. His best attribute was getting the ball in space where he could use his pace on attack. Perhaps he could improve with better backline coaching. He played the invisibale man on attack in 2014 for the Bulls. He has not physical presence in contact over the advantage line.On defense his positional play is not great and his tacking technique is too high. He seems scared to make tackles.
The was "best prospect" since Danie Gerber at 13 that Fat Dave has identified, is not even a starter at curry cup level these days. He could find himself on Ebay before he knows it- to release budget for the Bulls next signings. He could be following his good friend Sadie as part of the Bulls shit list sooner than later.
Zane KircherThankfully he has been dropped. Their only seems to be one specialist fullback in the squad in Willie Leroux. Gi ven their is 3 flyhalfs in the squad, it would appear Bambie is covering 15. I think Lambie should consider going back to 15 where most of his best performances have been.
